IS THIS SOMETHING TO BE PROUD OF? I CANNOT TELLsunset_summersJanuary 20 2011, 02:11:14 UTC
Roxas was oblivious to the fact that he was being watched, only focused on the grave in front of him. It was kind of dumb to be talking to something that couldn't talk back, but Roxas wouldn't deny that it made him feel better. And maybe his father's spirit was listening or something.
"Um, I just want to let you know that I'm doing okay. I'm on a new airship now. I'm the navigator for a diplomatic ship, isn't that cool?"
Roxas paused as if he was expecting a reply. He got none.
"I made a lot of friends, though most of them are on different ships or just left now."
Well, that sounded depressing.
"B-but I'm fine! Really!" Roxas added quickly. To the passerby, it must have looked like he was talking to thin air. He put a hand under his chin. What did he say now? Was that enough, or should he talk about more? It seemed like so little to say, though. He finally let his gaze wander a bit, still thinking, and he happened to see Kanji.
That was that guy with the doll, right? The one Roxas made that secret pact with.
Shit, he'd been caught staring! Kanji felt a flush rise to his face immediately, embarrassed at being caught snooping on something so personal. "Sorry, I didn't mean to --" he began.
Well, that didn't sound suspicious at all.
"I-I wasn't listening or anything. Honest! I was just -- passing by, you know!"
Roxas is friends with all the punkssunset_summersJanuary 26 2011, 03:37:29 UTC
In the past, Roxas might have freaked out over someone being there, but this wasn't the past anymore. No longer would he just slink away quietly at this subject. It was hard to accept, but his father was dead. It wasn't something he had to be ashamed of, nor was it something he was going to let cripple his life from now on. Roxas had already wasted far too much time doing that.
"It's okay," he said. "It's not something I need to hide or anything."
FINALLY TAGGING THIS GOD I AM SUCH A FAILUREoh_sew_manlyMarch 15 2011, 03:10:13 UTC
...whatever reaction Kanji had been expecting, a sad smile and quiet acceptance weren't it. It stopped him dead in his tracks.
"Still...I didn't mean to interrupt," he said after a moment, a bit calmer now, and truly sorry for intruding on a private moment. He scratched the back of his head. "Sorry."
There was a long, awkward pause. "You're visiting someone, right?"
"It's okay," Roxas said. He really didn't mind if someone else showed up. It wasn't like he owned this graveyard or anything. (Though some people did joke that he did, once upon a time.) And Roxas had somewhat surprised himself on how okay it really was. He was able to talk about this honestly and openly. "And yeah, I'm visiting my dad."

...how long had he been standing there?
