To be perfectly honest, he'd gone down to the kitchen intending to ask Watanuki. However, Ichigo did not have Watanuki's shifts memorized, and was simply making his best guess by heading down to the kitchen sometime after dinner.
Pushing the door open without knocking (as he was wont to do), Ichigo called as he went in, "Hey! Watanuki!"
