Jenka was enjoying this "Public Relations" position. Last year, on the 4423, she would have been swabbing the deck, or coiling the ropes, or doing something equally tedious in order to justify her presence on the ship. Here, unless something was actually happening, her only job was to keep her weapons clean and occasionally glare at the passengers to make sure they weren't sticking their noses where they didn't belong.

On the other hand, of course, it left her with a lot of time filled with doing absolutely nothing. That was the problem with airships.

"Hyu gots nottink to do eider, hm?"

A slow smile spread across his scarred-up face as she approached. "Who's complaining about some downtime?" Of course, Low Key had more than enough things to occupy him, he'd been quite busy of late in fact, but Jenka didn't need to know that. "Don't tell me you're bored, Jenka," he teased.

The Jäger grinned back and, without giving it another thought, stretched out on the deck next to her old acquaintance. As good a way of spending the next half hour as most.

Damn, but it was strange to see him again.

"Yah, just a leedle," she admitted.

He didn't find it strange to talk to her again, but Low Key was used to the idea of people being around for a long, long time. "The best thing to do in times like these," he advised, leaning to the side slightly to murmur confidentially, "is to make your own entertainment. There's a whole town out there--" he made a sweeping gesture with his arm -- "with no idea, no fucking clue we're here. What do you say, Jenka, do you think we ought to change that? Or have you lost your taste for it since you finally found your new mistress?" His eyes flashed, a mocking light in them. "Heard she was a soft one. A real do-gooder."

Jenka herself wasn't unused to people (or, more often, not quite people) staying alive (for varying definitions of alive) for centuries, but she'd been so young when she'd last seen him. The sound of his voice brought back so many memories. The things he was saying weren't helping, either.

She growled quietly, more frustration than malice. Truth be told, there have been a few times Jenka and the Boys had forgotten themselves and done exactly what he was describing - but she could hardly forget when he was so very thoughtfully reminding her of all the reasons why she couldn't.

She tried not to let him get to her. (It wasn't working.) Still, in a twisted way, she could appreciate the cruelty. "Nah, Hy tink Hy'z gun stay right here. Ve'z havink such a nize talk, after all."

She brought back memories, too. Back when he'd met her for the first time, he'd been at full strength, a fire giant who could switch shapes faster than you could blink, so goddamn good that no one could hold onto him for long (well, except Thor). Now...well. They'd both fallen pretty far.

But that didn't mean Low Key wouldn't give her shit about it. Winding up a Jaeger could be unhealthy, but it was also really fucking fun. "So you're perfectly happy with some good conversation, are you? You don't miss the old days at all? Shame."

Damn, but she wasn't happy with just conversation. Not at all. The claws of the hand she was leaning on were leaving furrows in the wooden deck as a testament to just how much she'd rather go into town and do exactly what he said.

But it was still a very bad idea. She tried to resist the rising temptation, and give back as good as she got in the meantime. "Me? Hy'd tink hyu'd be de vun to miss de goot old times." She looked him up and down meaningfully. "Right now, hyu probably couldn't make dese pipples remember hyu even if hyu tried!"

"Me?" Low Key raised an eyebrow. He wasn't quite as bothered by her insinuation of weakness as, say, Tyr would have been. Low Key was used to being the weak one. He still had his brains, and that was far more important than muscle anyway. "It's just a matter of creativity now." Not that he didn't miss being able to shapeshift, sometimes, or fly. But he'd always been the plans guy.

Well, it wasn't as if she hadn't known she wasn't nearly as good at getting under people's skin as he was. (And no wonder. Nobody was, after all.) She just had to try it anyway - and flopped back on the deck with a frustrated growl when the attempt failed to get much of a reaction.

"Iz dot so? Vhy hyu sittink here und readink a borin-lookink book, den?" She certainly wouldn't be, if she had the option of making her own entertainment.
