Nena was taking a break from her search, as it happened. She'd spent most of the day looking for the missing items (when she wasn't on any of her shifts or napping, of course) and was just a little tired of it. A passenger's missing stuff was a part of work and work was Serious Business. But that didn't mean she had to enjoy it, right? That was her line of thinking, at least.

She'd helped find the gilded goose at least, even if the other two items hadn't turned up yet. It had looked like they'd found the self-perpetuating egg beater as well, but... mistakes had been made. And so now she was up on deck, enjoying the breeze while she thought of where to look next.

It had been a long, long day.

For what seemed to be the millionth time to him, Pip had to wonder once more just was up with life nowadays. As if things weren't bad enough, now the ship was partway to chaos because Mr. Caulcher had lost his things and now everyone was scrambling to find it. At least that whole thing about the breeding egg beaters was over and done with - the man had no idea where anyone would even get an idea, but well... when one had been though things like he did, you just learned that it was really for the best to not ask questions.

Not zat its going to really help anyone for zat matter, the man thought to himself with a stifled sigh, blowing out a cloud of cigarette smoke that swiftly wafted past him from the air current up on deck. It was a good night - not too many clouds, and the temperature was just cold enough without having to feel his fingers freezing off anytime soon. Still, he had his gloves on, just in case ( ... )

Nena and Pip weren't the only ones near the deck. Their strange guest slouched against the rails and took a deep breath. He didn't seem to be aware of anyone else yet.

Pip may have been quiet, but Nena's ears were sensitive. She picked up on the footsteps headed towards her and turned in their direction. Oh, it was Pip. Nena gave him a small nod before turning back to face the sky again.

"It's a nice night, isn't it."

It was more statement than question.

Well, Pip wasn't too concerned when Nena saw him. The first mate nodded back in return, making his way next to the redheaded pilot. Once there, he leaned forward against the rails, one arm balancing as the other made sure to press down on his hat so that it wasn't going to fly off from his head anytime soon.

"It's certainly one of the better nights, at least," he replied, a small smile crossing his face.
