Characters: Paula Polestar and Low Key Lyesmith
Content: It's a chance meeting. Really, it is. Don't give me that look, Sam.
Setting: Balisier, main street
Time: Before the Convoy and Serenity take off, but after Lunasa
Warnings: Excessive cute from Paula, mild creep from Low Key but nothing too terrible.
For most people, taking Lunasa decorations down was depressing, a reminder that the holiday was over and it was time to go back to the grind of their normal lives. Low Key wasn't much of an exception. Though he went with the flow and wouldn't get all choked up about it, there was something about Lunasa that he liked, especially in Vohemar and the Badlands.
He couldn't imagine what it would be, he thought, watching a wind from the mountains pick up ash and dust from an extinguished bonfire and carry it away.
But Serenity would be leaving soon, and Low Key wanted to stretch his legs one more time, since he'd be spending who knew how long confined in a very small space. Not for the first time, Low Key wished he still had that one pair of shoes...
...but there was no point dwelling in the past. He'd get them back eventually, but until then, Low Key just had to make do with what he had. And right now, he had a town in the process of cleaning itself up after a whole month of holidaying. The flowers had stopped falling and needed to be cleared out of the streets. The decorations were frayed and needed to be taken down. And Low Key walked through it all, hands in his pockets, thinking about everything and nothing.
