And lucky Green, his plan was working out! There was indeed, one Ness Lakehaven on the Convoy, and he was awake at that ungodly hour making sure his gifts were all in order. One for the captain, one for the first mate, one for Paula, ones for all his friends on other ships... (what a coincidence they were all here for Hanami!)

Oh, and he had pulled the night shift that particular day too, but no one was coming in sick or injured, so why not use the time to get ready for the holiday? The door of the infirmary was open, inviting everyone in.

Eevee had been looking for Pika, but another familiar scent caught her attention on the way. She hadn't seen Ness in more then the barest passing in years, but she could smell Pika on him too, so that helped.

The little fox monster trotted right in, looking up at the young doctor and yipping. "Vuu!" It was nice, seeing so many old friends in one place!

The noise caught Ness off guard. When he turned around - was that Eevee? Ness only knew one person who owned something like that. This could be an entirely different monster and not the one he knew.

"Eevee?" he asked. If this was really the monster he knew, then it should give him some kind of indication of recognition.

"Vee!" she chirped happily, running over and hopping to be picked up. Was Ness this tall when she last saw him? She really couldn't remember for sure, but it was him! And if he was here then Red was here. And if Red was here then Pika was for SURE here.

Meanwhile, poor Green wandered the halls, hissing out Eevee's name, trying not to wake anyone up. If he was caught he'd be lucky just to be thrown out, if not arrested. He noticed the open door and the light, and slowly snuck towards it. She must have gone in there...

"Oh, Eevee, it is you!" Ness smiled, immediately bending over to pick up the little catfox. He hadn't seen Eevee in such a long time, and she was as soft as ever.

She did look a little smaller though...maybe it was because Ness himself was taller?

"If you're here, then that must mean Green is nearby," he said. It wasn't speculation, it was fact. Wherever Eevee was, Green was too. He scratched her behind the ears idly. "But what are you guys doing here?" Didn't Green have a gym to run?

Eevee purred at the attention, wrapping her tail around Ness' wrist. While out in the hallway Green paused. That voice sounded pretty familiar, and it obviously knew Eevee's name. The trainer pondered for a moment before walking in as well.

"...oh, it's you." Wonderful greeting, huh?

And just as he said, Green was not far behind. The curt greeting didn't sting all that much - Ness was used to them, having lived next door to Green for such a long time.

"Hi, Green," he said, before asking the obvious question: "What are you doing here?" And at this time, as well.

"..." Oh hell, he really had to tell Red's little brother that he was here because his pet got loose on him. Great. So, time to bend the facts a little.

"I'm looking for your brother. You heard from him?" So what if it was inching on midnight, whatever.

Of course Green would be looking for Red. What else would he be doing? Ness' expression soured a bit. Red still hadn't apologized for what he did, and he didn't seem to be anytime soon. Still scratching behind Eevee's ear, he said, "Yeah, he finally turned up."

Score. He smirked, a hand on one hip. Of course his plan had worked... even if it ended up going off a few hours too early. Now from here he could buy a seat on an airship and go to where-ever Red was hiding.

"So, where's he at?"

"Around," Ness replied. He wasn't keeping strict tabs on his brother, especially when he was still sore at him. "Somewhere on this ship. You might find him at the kitchen making poffins again."

"...wait. He's here?!" He jerked in surprise, looking at Ness like he'd grown another head. Holy hell, the entire monster training league would have shit themselves to know what he did right now. "He's been here this entire time?!"

"No, not this entire time," Ness said. Green's surprise didn't bother him, as it was pretty well known in the monster training world that Red just up and vanished off the face of Reial. Many people had come to their house looking for him. "He just showed up here two months ago, just like that. Told me he was training for the past three years. On a mountain."

Green wasn't exactly the kindest person to Ness over the years, but it felt good to have someone to vent to.

It was true, Ness had felt some of the fallout of Green's bullying, even if most of it was focused on Red. And he was probably too young to remember when Green and Red were friends. But even so, Green generally found him a bit more tolerable then Red.

"...that idiot. Tch, does sound like him though."

"Idiot doesn't even begin to describe it!" Ness snorted. Ugh. How could Red be so smart and so stupid at the same time? Goes and disappears for three years, suddenly shows back up, and doesn't even offer so much as an apology when Ness spent all that time worrying about him? Jerk! All he has to do is say he's sorry, but he won't even do that! "...why are you looking for him?"

"What reason do you think? Me and him have unfinished business."

He paused, smirking and placing a hand on one hip. "I'll give him a couple extra hits, if you want?"
