Characters: All the dance contest participants, and those who want to watch them!
Content: The long awaited dancing competition has arrived!
Setting: In the center of Balisier's marketplace
Time: Night, just after the sun has set
Warnings: SOME HIGH SCORING MOVES HERE!
The dance competition was to be held in the center of Balisier's market. It was a perfect location: right in town with an open square that was perfect to set up a stage on. It was a large square platform raised slightly off the ground, about fifty feet on each side to accommodate all of the participants, the area illuminated by mana crystal powered lanterns. The MC was a tall, young woman dressed in a skin tight white outfit perfect for dancing. Her short green hair curled at the ends, forming cinnamon bun shapes. That wasn't what really stood out though. What was most eye catching was the pair of white cat ears on her head and matching white tail.
"Welcome to the Hanami Cloud Festival Dance Contest, nya!" she announced. "It's the battle of the decade! We've got all kinds of styles from around the content. Traditional, elegant, modern. Which one will reign supreme? The one that impresses the judges, of course, nya!"
The three judges were sitting at a table at the very front and center of the stage. One of them was a bright eyed woman in an elegant black dress, one was a young man in a suit, and the last one, sitting in the middle, was a bald older gentleman who looked like he would be difficult to please.
"So here's the deal, we have six contestants this time around and they'll be broken into two groups of three-"
At that moment, a young man wearing loose fitting clothing rushed up onstage to whisper something in the woman's (human) ear. She frowned and turned to face the stagehand, muttering something that sounded like "what am I supposed to do now!?" After a few more moments of bickering and irritation, the man scurried off and the woman turned back to the audience, visibly annoyed.
"Okay, so, we had a last minute drop out, which means we're down to five contestants. This means we'll have one group of three and one group of two. Each person in each group will dance for the judges, and the judges will pick which one of that group they like best. The winners of both groups will then face off, and grand winner will be decided." At that moment, the woman seemed to get her original spunk back, raising a hand and saying, "So without further ado, let's get ready to Bust. A. Move!"
[OOC: The groups are as follows: Penelo, Jean, and Rangiku in group one, and Yosuke and Zhang He in group two. Feel free to start the threads yourselves. Each contestant will take turns dancing for the judges, in which they'll debate over who's better. After each contestant has taken his or her turn, the judges will debate a little, and the process will start all over again. There will be five rounds of dancing, and the judges will pick a winner at the end. To keep things fair, the winner will be OOCly decided by a dice roll/random number generator.
