Paula had been out and about the festival so late for some reason, but it hardly seemed to matter in these moments. In fact breathing did not seem to be high up on the list either, as Paula barely registered that she had started to hold her breath as if she was afraid that her soft exhalations would ruin the sight around her. The sky was alive with delicate threads of light. The spectral threads seemed to weave amongst each other and the stars effortlessly. Paula stood perfectly still, completely entranced and not wishing to miss a single moment of it.
It was so simple. It was in moments like these that Paula felt deep in her heart that all she believed in was absolute.
Life was truly beautiful.
Carefully, oh so carefully, she reached up a hand as if to reach out and touch. Her fingers faltered just slightly, hesitating.

It was a strange and wonderful sight, these creatures moving on to the next part of their lives. He was... warmed by so many people being able to see it so up close.

Paula reached out again, with more confidence this time. Her fingertips brushed lightly across one thread and it began to curve slightly in the air. She smiled.
"Do you know what they are?"

He paused, shaking his hand slightly so the mushi could come loose and float away. He didn't want to keep them from their journey longer then necessary.

For once, she felt lucky.
Drifting through the streets and gazing at the flowers, it was mere chance that had caused Nena to look back down, right where Paula was standing. Oh, she recognised her! They lived on the same ship and she'd made her a cake! Wow, she looked so happy... It wouldn't be terrible if she watched her for a little while, would it?

She was so lost in the moment that she had no idea there was anyone else near her, and it took a while for her to actually notice. Not at all before the flower gave up its spectral thread. It wove through the sky, making a slow circle around Paula's head as it went. She followed it with her eyes as it went... and finally noticed the other girl.
"Oh! Hello!"

The pilot sighed and looked back to sky, quietly watching the mushi flowing through the sky. After a while, she spoke.
"It's beautiful, isn't it?"
