this journal post, the old crewmembers of the Way who want to meet up for a ~HEARTFELT SHIP REUNION.~ Bring your yukata~!
Setting: A fairly large flower-viewing area toward the southern part of the market.
Time: Evening, right around sundown.
Warnings: Whatever you bring with you! BUT COME ON. BE NICE. IT'S A PARTY.
Gintoki's message on his journal had decided him. Watanuki had brought food. Not a great deal of it - there were plenty of open food stands, after all, and as of yet he wasn't really sure how many he'd be feeding - but in the center of the long table set to the side of this viewing area was a large platter of homemade cream puffs. Enough, he hoped, for everyone who arrived to have some.
The viewing area itself was set aside from the main street, a piece of the town conveniently far from any tall buildings or trees. The sun had sunk below the looming Norton Cloud, backlighting the flowers still drifting lazily down; soon, the streetlamps would be lighting up the festivities and painting the flowers with yellow stripes and shadows. The cries of vendors and the laughter of the evening crowd were audible from the more crowded streets to the north, but this area was just far away enough to feel slightly secluded, a private show of falling flowers just for their group.
Watanuki had left his usual vest and trousers on the ship, choosing instead at the last minute to dig a black, flower-patterned summer yukata out of his trunk. It was almost archaically traditional, and he hadn't worn it since he'd worked for the witch back in Bellcius, but he thought it fit the mood well. It reminded him of the summer festivals he'd once gone to with Doumeki and Himawari.
He stood beside the long table and watched the flowers fall with an expectant smile. The evening was clear, the only spirits flitting about overhead were small and benevolent (probably because of the luck supposedly dripping from the flowers), and the Winding Way would soon be gathered together again. What could be better?
