After this long, she would finally see one of her men again. And that group, that one particular group would always be hers. They'd been through too much together; she'd made them what they were: feared universally.
She hated to see them scattered to the winds, but if he was here, perhaps...
"Come in, Miles."

"Captain," he said by way of greeting, adjusting his stance so that his hands were clasped behind his back.

It was something he would be used to, her going at her own pace; it was something she'd had to squash since coming on board, and she was going to milk this reunion for everything she could.
Finally, she turned to him, head held high. "Good to see you again."
She resisted the urge to embrace him. It just wasn't professional. But dear gracious, she was relieved to see an ally close at hand.

It felt normal, familiar... right.
"You too, ma'am." He didn't resist his own urge to give her a salute, over-formal as it may have been. "It has been too long."
He dropped his hand to his side and waited to see whether the visit was to be a casual reunion or something more pressing.

"You don't have to salute me here," she responded, though she did give him her usual dismissive nod.
There was business to be attended to--things to be explained--but how much did Miles really need to know?
"I'll begin," she said quietly, dangerously, stepping closer, "by telling you that I'm in a situation I can't get out of. Not yet. I'm willing to let you be on the outside of it, but knowing you, you'll want to fight with me. Am I correct?"

He listened to her carefully, his eyes narrowing behind his tinted glasses at her words. That she of all people had been put in a position that she was unable to escape made him feel uneasy. Despite that, he trusted that she was doing all in her power to deal with it. He knew her better than to think she'd sit idle.
As for her question...
"Yes, ma'am," he confirmed, giving a single nod.
