It was depressing. Completely depressing. So depressing that the good count didn't even have the heart to reply to the terrorists. He had been cooped in his little corner in the big Amestris ballroom: in tears, in sorrow, in utmost devastation.

Tamaki meant well. When he decided to do that soup kitchen club, he decided to serve in the best interest of the people. The butlers. The ambience. The smiles. The heart. All of them were meant to make the people of Solare happy.

But it didn't make them happy. It only made things worse. Now the ship was in danger and it's all because of his efforts. Hence, he sulked by the corner, not exactly knowing whether what he did was wrong or right.

While Larsa didn't find himself depressed, the very situation itself was disheartening at best. To think that their mere presence in Solare could incite the wrath of so many. Was there never a way around bloodshed? So far it had only been their ship targeted, but with the Captain missing following the bombing of his train, it was not a stretch to assume someone, perhaps the very same people, had been behind it. If that was the case, it was indeed possible he'd been taken hostage.

But while he was confined to the ballroom, there wasn't much to do but wait, using his difference engine to contact all else on the outside. He'd taken notice of Tamaki earlier, but he hadn't looked quite so despondent. But upon seeing him take refuge in a corner, he approached the older boy, lowering down into a crouch as he gently touched Tamaki's knee.

"Are you all right?"

Tamaki simply turned around, tears welling around his eyes. Since this was Larsa, it was completely fine to look less diplomatic than he should. Clearly... he hasn't been well.

The look alone spoke volumes, and misinterpreting Tamaki's grief for fear or sickness -- maybe even both -- Larsa barely resisted removing his glove to feel the other's forehead, and miraculously kept both hands to himself.

"Are you unwell? Shall I fetch a medic?" he questioned in concern, unhappy that Tamaki was unhappy when he was normally full of life.

"No," Tamaki shook his forehead, "there's no need for that." It was unnecessary. The medics could do no cure for having broken his heart.

"I feel horrible for you to see me in such despair, young Larsa. I believe I have lost a part of myself in this recent endeavor." A bit of sniffle and sneeze escaped Tamaki. It had been quite unbearable for the past few days.

"I assure you that I feel much the same," the smaller brunet protested, relocating his hand to his own knee. He had always been skilled at the art of counselling, but it wasn't often someone close to him, which made the task all the more difficult. But Larsa had patience in spades, and it was that calmness that would hopefully ease Tamaki of his sorrow.

Before speaking again, he paused, thoughtfully. "How may I help?"

The good count couldn't help but sigh, looking forlorn out the window, hearing guns being shot and swords being drawn while he... he was merely sitting by the window, sulking.

"What good could we nobles do, Larsa? We are the best educated out of this lot and yet people think of our efforts in vain. Does peace come only with a bit of violence? Is that the only answer?" There was a short sniffle at the end of his tone, and his tears... while not there, has been compensated for, with a tear drop.

Larsa remained quiet as the blonde boy spoke, and waited until he was finished to offer advice as best he could. "I don't know if there is an answer, Tamaki. It is difficult to say." The smaller noble took one of Tamaki's hands in both of his.

"But you have done nothing wrong. There is no need to cry for a cause you have not lost. There will forever be friction and anger, even when one means good. The fact that you have done something should give you some peace of mind. It is true that... sometimes, to achieve peace, violence may indeed come hand-in-hand. But it is the degree of violence that will make the difference. Perhaps your efforts alone cannot guarantee world peace and equality..."

He squeezed the other's hand. "But you can bring peace to one person, if not more. To give someone a reason to smile, to live... that is more than enough. And I am proud of you."

Strange how different Larsa was when they last spoke. His travels have made him more confident at heart... a truly admirable person. At the touch of his hand, Tamaki pulled Larsa in, giving him a tight brotherly hug.

"You speak of great wisdom, Larsa. You may be young but your heart speaks to mine." And he was thankful he had heard it. For Larsa to be proud of what he did.

"I believe this merits that I should do something greater, grander for entire Reial!"

The sudden hug was unexpected, but not unwanted. With a helpless laugh, Larsa wrapped his arms round Tamaki's back to return the embrace. "I have faith that you can do anything you put your mind to," he finished, smiling now that the older of the two had brightened up.

"Remember to never lose hope. Hope is a very dangerous thing to lose, most especially in these times."
