Watanuki was still getting used to a ship full of people who knocked. Nobody on the Way had remembered to do that. Ever. He turned quickly when he heard the sound - he had been kneading dough and was covered in flour up to the elbows, a kerchief holding his hair out of his face. He didn't recognize the man standing in the doorway; but then again, this was a gigantic ship, with new arrivals all the time.

...He didn't look like he belonged in the galley, though. "Can I help you?" Watanuki asked, wondering if he was lost.

Only one person in the kitchen, and he looked busy. Ishida could feel his boldness fading fast. "Aah...I did. But...I could come back when you're less busy?" Damnit, he was not good at dealing with people. And it was a pretty weird favor he had to ask - he didn't want to get on the bad side of the kitchen staff first thing.

"I'm always busy," Watanuki said, making a less-than-successful attempt to dust off his hands. "If you have something to ask, go ahead-- you're new here, right?" There was no reason not to be friendly; besides, for all he knew this guy was an ambassador or some kind of royalty. Watanuki assumed he was here about a food request, or an inquiry about the menu.

Uryuu nodded, and stepped fully into the kitchen instead of hanging by the door frame. "Erm, I know this is kind of an odd request, but...would it be possible to borrow a large metal pot? Probably stew-pot sized...and a burner too, I guess." He folded his hands behind his back to try and keep himself from fidgeting. "I don't actually need it right now, but I might in the future."
