Ulquiorra hadn't wanted to attend the party in Trewe. Parties weren't his thing and this was mostly because they required tedious conversation with people he considered trash. As such, he'd stayed behind, intending to make the most of a decidedly tidier ship and much fewer idiots. All in all he didn't dislike the Convoy, but he tended towards having a low opinion of pretty much everything and everyone, with painfully few exceptions. If he had a middle name, which he doesn't, it would almost certainly be 'Negative'.

Still, he required the use of the kitchen. He headed there from his room and made himself a cup of tea -- one made entirely in the cup as opposed to in a pot. After that, he headed to a small dining room to drink it, relishing the quiet. He didn't want to take it to his room because of having to bring the cup back, so the nearer option was the preferred one.

He opened the door to Hex's dining room and blinked once, slowly.

"Is this room in private use?" He asked, his tone flat and his voice low.

It wasn't as empty as he would have liked, but one or two people weren't too bad. It beat a crowd, at least.

von Karma had 'forgotten' about that tea party business, primarily because the impression he'd gotten of that woman over the network was not a very good one. One would think he would have a higher tolerance for the... unusual, given his reputation, but... really, he only tolerated his own particular brand of insanity, which was perfectly normal to him.

Of course, there was no way he'd go to that party, either. It was almost certain that it would be full of drunken idiots. So, he'd made himself a cup of tea and headed to the parlor, where he'd surely be able to have a moment of pea-

...oh.

"I'm not interrupting anything, am I?"

Really, the depressed-looking young man didn't look like he'd be any trouble unless he started reciting poetry, but... that... woman? And her... thing?

Perhaps it would be in his best interests to leave.

Things had taken far less time than Bumblebee had thought, since Pip had asked him to stay on the ship and hold off his information-gathering excursions until tomorrow. But the party at the Flying Grog Tavern had been a lot of fun, at least while he'd been there. He would have liked to stay, but he'd already committed to attending Hex's party . . . and keeping an eye on her for Pip.

He came down the hall with a clear glass cube about the size of a small storage box, the contents of which was liquid, glowing softly . . . and neon pink. Well, he'd promised to introduce Hex to energon, after all, and she'd asked him to bring some to this gathering of hers, so . . .

He paused as he reached the parlor, blue-glowing optics regarding the two men in the doorway. He offered them a grin. "Good evening, Mr. von Karma, Mr. ..." He let his voice trail off briefly as he realized he didn't know the other's name. "Joining the . . . 'tea' . . . party, too?" He'd noted the drinks in their hands.

"Oh, come in, come in!" Hex said with a [Happy Grin.] To help drive her point home, she waved a hand and three chairs seemed to pull themselves away from the table.

With an annoyed tone to her voice, she commented, "I see you've brought your own tea, gentlemen." A [Slight Scowl,] which then gave way to a [Big Smile] "How wonderfully considerate!"

It was then that she noticed Bumblebee and his pink... cube. "Bumblebee, dear! How delightful that you could come!" She indicated the seat nearest her.

Another look to the two men in the doorway. "Well, don't just stand there!" [Annoyed] "Come and sit!"

Ulquiorra felt considerably more confused than he looked. He didn't look shaken when the chairs moved at the woman's command. That said, he did blink slowly and near-expressionlessly at her insistence that they enter and take part in... whatever this was.

Did she just order him to sit down? One eyebrow twitched upwards fractionally at the command, but he didn't open his mouth to deliver a biting retort at her presumptuousness. Well, he was going to sit there anyway, why would he change his mind now that she'd told them to sit? He didn't reply, but he walked into the room and sat down, albeit very stiffly.

He placed his cup down on the table in front of him.

...and now there was another automaton. Wonderful. What was that pink... material in the box, anyway? Hopefully it wouldn't explode.

"I suppose I have no other choice but to join," said von Karma, with a hint of ruefulness in his voice as he sat down.

This . . . was going to be interesting in more ways than one, wasn't it? The two organics didn't want to be here - even Bumblebee could see that. One was stiff and expressionless, and the other was . . . well, von Karma. This was the first the small mech had really interacted at all with the weapons master, but he'd seen the man around, and heard a lot about him. A lot.

Sunstreaker, Prowl, Cliffjumper, Mirage . . . smelt, even Huffer or Gears! The smallest Autobot found himself yearning for the company of even some of the most difficult among his old companions to hang out with and have a good time. ...oh well. They weren't here. These people were. Best to make the best of things.

Screwing on a grin, he looked at von Karma. "Well, no, you don't have to, of course . . . though we'd like it if you did." With that, he crossed to Hex and set the cube on the table. "This is energon in its liquid form, which is the easiest to transport." Glancing over his shoulder at the other two, he explained, "Optimus Prime and I aren't built to consume organic fuel. This is what we run on."

"Oh you always have a choice, dear." Hex was back to [Smiling sweetly.] "But I would be most [Angry] disappointed if you left so early!" [Furious]

[Happy Grin] She arranged some of her cookies on a platter and put the plate on Scuzzy's head. "Would you like a biscuit?" she asked sweetly.

Scuzzy floated around the table, offering the 'guests' his Mistress' cookies. They were actually rather cute, made in the shape of Optimus Prime with little candies for eyes. Scuzzy refrained from offering one to bumblebee, but still showed him what they looked like.

Hex's attention was focused solely on the glowing pink box Bumblebee had set on the table. "How fascinating!" Though extremely [Excited,] she did not touch it, not yet. It would have been quite rude for her to eat before her guests.

Ulquiorra took a biscuit from the plate, but not before giving the cat... thing a funny look. He, surprisingly, didn't take it out of courtesy for their generous 'host' -- he just liked cookies. It was a well-hidden vice of his, strangely enough.

He didn't, however, say 'thank you'.

He sipped his tea and looked at the energon with a small degree of flat, linefacey curiosity and then glanced at von Karma from the corner of his eye. He couldn't help but wonder what he'd gotten himself into and doubted, somehow, that the other 'living' 'guest' had planned for it, either.

Even so, he was going to sit there anyway, so he figured that he would be free to leave when he'd finished his drink.

...that sounded fairly ominous, especially with the odd way the woman's expressions changed. von Karma wasn't afraid of her, really, but he remained wary.

He gave the cat... machine a critical look before taking a biscuit off of it.

"Fine. Although, I don't think I can stay long."

Bumblebee shook his head - he was going to have to play some kind of buffer between Hex and the humans, wasn't he? And . . . were those supposed to be Prime!? The Autobot couldn't help but feel more than a little revulsion at the idea of consuming little effigies of his revered leader.

"Um . . . H-hex, why . . . ??" He shook his head, not sure he really wanted an answer to that.

Obviously because if she'd made Bumblebee cookies they'd be too small to get all the detail in. so_many_moods June 17 2010, 02:49:50 UTC
Hex was not at all bothered by the younger man's lack of a 'thank you.' She had been very proud of her biscuits. It had been very hard to locate the sugar. Taking the remaining cookies from Scuzzy, she placed the tray in front of Ulquiorra. "In case you'd like another, cheeky," she said with a [Wry Grin.]

She turned towards von Karma. "Oh, how tragic!" [Sad.] "we'll just have to enjoy your company while you're here!" [Sweet Smile]

Now that everyone had a drink and a biscuit, Hex turned her full attention to Bumblebee. [Excited] "'Why'- don't I try this 'Energon' of yours?" [Wicked Delight] "Marvelous idea, dear!" She picked up the pink cube and rotated it in her hands, examining it carefully. Then, quicker than anyone could blink, the interface units in her nails slid out, penetrated the cube, and drained it of the pink glowing liquid. The empty cube was dropped back onto the table.

Hex's expression was [Completely Blank] for a long moment as she digested, then she switched to a [Disturbing Grin]. "That was-" She paused, [Puzzled.] Her fingers began to shake. Then her hands, and her arms, and her whole body began to tremor uncontrollably, and she went [Blank] again. Beneath the mask, her 'eyes' began to glow...

Ulquiorra would have raised an eyebrow had he been a more expressive person. He'd never been called cheeky before. He didn't smile back, but that was to be expected if you knew him well enough.

"Thank you." He said stiffly in response to the offer of more, knowing exactly what she was getting at with the comment.

He brought the biscuit to his mouth to take a bite when Hex absorbed the energon. It was a strange process, to say the least. Ulquiorra was entirely unfamiliar with it, so he watched carefully. When she'd finished and started to shake, he looked a little more alert. He had no idea whether it was a good or bad reaction, but he was slightly glad that he was armed just in case it did anything to 'overload' her, or something of that nature.

Even so, he didn't move.

"Um, Hex, I wouldn'tNOTSOFAST!"

Bumblebee moved to stop her, but he wasn't quick enough. Apprehensive, he watched her carefully as she processed the alien fuel, afraid of what harm it might do. He'd intended for her only to sample it first to see if it was even compatible!

A-and it . . . looked like it might not be . . .

"Hex . . . ?"

To say Hex herself was not startled at the reaction would be untrue, but her system was processing the Energon, so she was not overly concerned.... And then she stopped feeling anything but the wondrous effects of the caffeine high from Hell. She rose into the air, hovering a foot or so about the table, still convulsing. "Y-yessss?!" Her mask was switching emotions more rapidly than should really have been possible.

Then, without warning, the convulsions stopped. Beneath her mask, her 'eyes' were still glowing, and a faint pink haze began to permeate out from her entire body. Hex had a particularly [Murderous] look on her face. Feiry orbs of viral code appeared in her hands. "How perfectly glooorious!" she exclaimed in a voice that would have made any child in the world run screaming for its mother. "I feel so ALIVE!"

She began to laugh maniacally, and the sound echoed throughout the small room. "Time. For. Chaos!" The last word was drawn out, the 's' hissing like nails on a chalkboard. The doors to the dining room flew open, and the Virus seemed damned intent on going through them and into the unsuspecting hallway...

Ulquiorra narrowed his eyes in distaste at the pitch of her voice. His sensitive ears did not find such a sound pleasant at all. Well, nobody would, really, but him less so. Even so, he resisted pulling his sword free of its sheath. He didn't know what she was, precisely, and whether his abilities would be enough to damage her. Regardless of whether he would or not, he didn't wish to arouse her ire.

It wasn't his ship she'd be damaging and he wouldn't be held accountable for the destruction she caused. He did, however, speak up.

"Are you sure that 'chaos' is a good idea?" He asked, his voice flat.

Following that, he took a bite of his biscuit.
