Drinking Time!! sobaisnice June 6 2010, 15:43:24 UTC
Kanda was sat in one of the darker corners, his own bottle of Sake infront of him. But that was almost finished. He was enjoying the quiet he didn't know anyone who had come into the bar at the moment, but he noticed a familiar guy walk in.

He was sure his name was Hisagi.... at least he was sure he'd heard people call him that when he'd passed by.

Sipping slowly so he could savor the taste, he shrugged when he realized he did not seem to see anyone from the Serenity right away- not that he can see much, with locals, smoke, and general controlled mayhem that can only be found in bars surrounding him and seeing that only the bar's the brightest place one can find in this location, others will have a better chance in finding him then him finding them... it's easier just to stay put for the moment.

Hisagi relaxed into the stool, intent on taking his time with the drink.

Kanda finished his sake off, then slipped from his seat towards the bar. Waving at the bartender to get himself another bottle, he was resting against the bar next to Hisagi.

He waited for a moment then grabbed the new bottle of Sake, glancing at Hisagi.

"Hisagi... right? From the Serenity," asked Kanda

Hisagi nearly spat out the sake he'd been nursing, having not been expecting anyone (how did he sneak up on him like that!?) just yet. Coughing slightly, he turned to face the newcomer warily.

"... Yeah."

Assuming he's not from the military-- a quick glance at his clothing verified the fact-- or around his town. The guy did not look older then 20, with delicate-like features, Hisagi was sure he'd remember a guy like that had they crossed paths back then. Which leaves the fact that anyone who knows his name should be from the Serenity, and he did let others know he'd be interested in company drinking, after all. While the guy did not look familiar, he still have yet to meet the whole crew.

"I'm sorry, I don't believe we've met...?"

With the Sky Pig hunt readying itself, as well as the ship, there wasn't much for Shinji, as a radio op, to actually do. Whether or not he'd be of use later didn't matter; he was bored now, and crowds never really appealed to him. There was always a chance of bumping into familiar faces, and it was all a bit claustrophobic. That, and he had zero shopping to do, unless Hiyori, Anthy, or Yoruichi wanted something and dragged him along to carry their bags because they were, well, women ( ... )

Is the right persona equipped? You spend time with Hisagi. reapingwinds June 7 2010, 01:50:57 UTC
Hisagi had just about polished off his first jar sake and halfway through his second when he felt, rather then saw someone slide into the seat beside him. The bark of laughter drew his attention, and he turned to see an unfamiliar figure.

Under any other circumstance, he'd probably answer with a generic ... Nah. I'm just that fucking good. Enough people have asked him that question for him to get use to deflecting it. The only reason he was even considering his answer, however, was the sake. While not enough to make him drunk, he was border-lining tipsy from the warmth of the alcoholic beverage he'd consumed, and it had (somewhat) loosened his tongue.

"It's complicated," he decided, bringing a hand the rub at the inked skin. "... and totally uncool, haha" He finished up the dish he held before pouring himself another. It's not like he was going to see this guy again, anyway. Turning to face the stranger completely, he grinned.

"Hurt like a bitch gettin' it, too."

And how wrong Hisagi was about that.

The Vizard's eyes flickered over to the bartender as his drink was pushed toward him, and while he rummaged in his pocket for payment, they fell back on Hisagi. "I know all about complicated," Shinji explained before slapping the coins onto the bartop. "But it don't involve tattooing the number 69 on my face o' all places. Why didn't y'put on, say..."

And here he took a leap, just to confirm his suspicions.

"... your chest or somethin'?"

There was a sharp intake of breath, Hisagi fought to stay in his seat; the result was him clenching the bottle so hard, his knuckles turn white from the pressure as he felt his muscles clench. An explosion of shock, excitement, desperation flashed across his face even as he struggled to keep a straight face. The overwhelming urge to grab the stranger and shake him until he shared any information in regards of Muguruma Kensei was hard to squash, and in the end, he gave up.

"... It's on me."

Fighting to keep the smile on his face, (likely it had slipped when he zoned out in his panic), he waved the coins away, breaking his self-imposed rule as he dug in his dwindling sash of money before turning to the stranger again, this time, all playfulness aside, the sake in front of him practically abandoned.

"Who are you, and what do you know about Muguruma-san?" He blurted, manners forgotten for the moment.

Hisoka slipped into the dimly-lit, smoky little tavern, and asked the bartender for a soda water with a slice of lime. The man gave him only the briefest of contemptuous looks and filled the glass without comment. Hisoka took his drink to a table, and sat down.

He had purchased and crated up a gift for Master Ukitake, and had then gone out to Garrettstown's little airfield to find a small-craft pilot who was headed in the direction of Solare and would deliver the box to the Amestris. The gift was five pounds of Bendito Bennie's Chocolate ("The Best in the Badlands!"), with a note saying, simply, "Enjoy."

Hisoka sipped his soda and glanced around curiously.

{{OOC: This would be quite a few hours after the first of Serenity's crew arrive at the bar.}}

He'd long since lost count the amount of booze he'd consume, and how long he'd been sitting in the stool. Still, he was somewhat aware when the door opened to let in another patron with a cheerful jingle. Hisagi blinked owlishly at the new arrival, a grin splitting his face as he recognized the newcomer. Sitting up from his slouch, he waved enthusiastically.

"Oi, Hisoka! Over 'ere!"

Hisoka smiled, took his glass and came to sit next to his friend, who was clearly three sheets to the wind. "Hisagi-san! Bet the ribs aren't bothering you now," he said.

He swayed, slightly, unintentionally-- probably from the effects of alcohol.

"Yep! Dr. Ryuuken knows his stuff real good!" Hisagi prodded his side, as if to demonstrate, gave up, and took another drink from the cup infront of him.

"Took ya long enough ta join me! What were ya up to?" Spotting the Hisoka's drink, he smirked. "Don't tell me that's jus water?" not that he can tell, anyway; vodka, tequila, light rum, and gin were seen mainly as colorless, afterall.

He ordered a bottle of sake and then waved at the scarred and tattooed man he'd met earlier. "Not a bad place," he said with a grin. "Maybe even get a few fights outta it!"

Hisagi laughed at the comment as the scarred man joined him in the bar, the tall tale signs of sake flushing his cheeks red.

"Yep!" he agreed, though anywhere with booze is not a bad place in his mind. Hisagi's answer was directed at Kenpachi's first statement, though his fogged brain did not even make the connection that maybe the guy would take it as agreement about the fights. His tongue, at this point, is a little looser, too; it was the main reason he grinned up at the looming man from his spot on the barstool before teasing him with "Not lost this time?"

He was pleased to see that Hisagi was up for a good fight--or even a mediocre fight--tonight. Drunks were easy to fight, but dumb enough to challenge him, so it all worked out. Besides, he needed the exercise. "Nah, Yachi just didn' wanna come. Says fights ain't no fun if the people are drunk. Besides, it's gonna be past her bedtime when I go back."

Hisagi was torn between laughing outright at the interesting father-daughter relationship Kenpachi shared with Yachiru and smacking his face in his hand once Kenpachi shared his logic. He went with laughter as he vowed (if he was not wasted by then) to keep the scary guy away from potential drunks that might be looking for a fight. Turning so he faced the tall man-- was Kenpachi always that tall, or was it because he was sitting down?-- he threw back another drink.

"She's gotta point, yanno?"
