Edgeworth strolled across the deck, and glanced around for signs of the cook and his fellow escort. It had been some time since he tired of Kropmork's sights (or whatever passed for such), and for years he had a staunch "get in get out and make it quick" attitude towards the island city. However, the rest of the crew, especially newcomers, seemed to be more divided between excitement and disgust. While he was sure that most people would fall into the latter camp by the time the talks were over with, there were still people who planned to wander around and explore to kill their boredom.

He had neither the time nor the inclination to guide all of these lost souls, but Ms. Andrews had an unfortunate interest in Kropmork. Now, Edgeworth couldn't allow harm to come to her: if something happened to Adrian, that left the ship with Ryohei brand disaster and the flaky, albeit talented, redhead. That simply would not do.

Since anyone else who knew about the city would avoid it, that left Edgeworth with the responsibility of escorting her through town. While Bunansa had volunteered his aid, Edgeworth suspected he'd be the one guiding them both. Still, it wasn't entirely unpleasant, and he did need an excuse to stretch his legs. A morning stroll would do no harm...so long as the remained alert.

Edgeworth spied Adrian as she approached Bunansa, and he swiftly made his way over towards them. He greeted the pair with a nod, and said, "Good morning, Ms. Andrews. Are we ready, or do you need more time?"

Ffamran greeted both of his morning companions with a grin. "Good morning, Commander, Ms. Adrian."

He looked out over the city, it had certainly lost some of its shine since last night, the bar had been pleasant enough, but the fight on the way home from the Way with Fran was not exactly his idea of a good time.

Despite the fact that he didn't usually carry it, he was also wearing his rapier today. He didn't think it would have been any additional help yesterday, but he had realized it would be ridiculous not to use all of the skills at his disposal, even if he was better with his fists now.

Ffamran was also looking forward to having a more 'official' guide to the city, perhaps he would be able to find some less disreputable bars or -- something.

Smiling at the arrival of Edgeworth, she gave him a shake of her head at his question.

"Nope, I'm quite ready to leave!"

She twisted the hem of her shirt before facing the two men again, this time with a more confident expression.

"You'll have to bare with me if I seem a bit excited, I was never one to travel after all."

Adrian had no doubts that they were the best men on board to have accompany her as escorts but she couldn't help but feel tentative and happy both at once. She certainly didn't want to make a fool of herself, so she'd take care to be extra cautious and careful today.

There will be no tripping or falling on pavements and no clumsy mistakes.

..or atleast that's what she was hoping for.

Edgeworth glanced at Bunansa for a moment, and noticed the rapier hanging by his side. While he hoped this little excursion wouldn't need it, he couldn't fault the boy for his caution, considering all the rumors about the city - and that was before one took the pirates into account. Even if he planned on taking the safest route possible, that didn't stop him from bringing his own saber.

He nodded towards Adrian, and said,"No worries, Ms. Andrews. Now, was there anything in particular you were interested in seeing...?" It couldn't hurt to see just how much she heard of the city before leading them out.

Ffamran tried to relax a little more, he was still feeling wound up from yesterday, but he was also pretty excited at the prospect of a guided tour.

"Don't worry, Ms. Adrian, I have to admit I haven't been much out of the country either, so it will be a learning experience for all involved." He'd already had a hell of an experience here, but he wasn't going to complain about that to Adrian or Edgeworth, although he subconsciously nudged his eye again but avoided wincing too much.

He actually wanted to see some of the shopping district, but he was going to defer to Adrian for now.

Adrian paused before answering Edgeworth's question, he always had a powerful air about him and she couldn't help but feel the slightest bit of intimidation as she looked up at him.

"Ah, yes, um...well, to be frank I always did have a soft spot for the arts. Perhaps if there is a museum or a theatre nearby we could visit?"

She nervously pushed her glasses up and twiddled with her fingers as she spoke, but offered Ffamran a familiar smile. He was one of the few people on board that Adrian felt comfortable around, and it was a relief that he was accompanying her too. Being with Mr. Edgeworth alone in the city seemed to be a rather nerve wracking ordeal on second thought..

"I'm afraid Kropmork isn't known for its arts," he apologized. "However, there is a museum, if you're interested, as well as an opera house and a theater. You've probably seen better in Melior, but if you wish, I'd be happy to lead the way." Edgeworth paused for a moment, as he tried to think of anything else that might pique her interest.

"There's also some rather...unusual libraries," he added. Edgeworth, personally, would rather save the place as a last resort. While Kropmork's library was certainly interesting, he preferred places that at least tried to follow the laws of physics.

Ffamran followed the Commander's lead, and even offered an elbow to Adrian if she wanted to take it.

"In Melior everything is so given over to the technical and engineering education that it's hard to find anything that's just pure art." He was silent for a moment while he thought about the university libraries and museum collections. "Although, ships, gears and metal certainly can be art in their own right." He loved those museums.

"What's so unusual about the libraries?" Ffamran had to say mostly he'd gotten acquainted with the bars not the high art. He was also familiar with some of the lowlife.

Breaking out into an excited smile, Adrian nodded eagerly as she walked beside the two of them.

"A library you say? That would be lovely, I can't remember the last time I've been to a new library--and oh, the museum would be wonderful if we could.."

She drifted off, a bit hesitant about continuing. Would it be too much to ask for another visit? Could that be considered as imposing? Pushing Mr. Edgeworth was definitely not what she wanted to do.

"..ah, nevermind. The library sounds to be something quite exciting, is it very far?"

Adrian looked at her side at the closer presence of Ffamran and faltered before blushing slightly at his offered arm. For a young man, he appeared to be quite the gentleman. Looping her own arm around his, she gave him a warm smile before facing Edgeworth again, waiting for an answer.

Great, it appeared that the library won the popular vote. As vexing as it was, Edgeworth only had himself to blame. He knew he shouldn't have brought it up.

He cleared his throat, and walked briskly towards the gangplank. "The library I'm thinking of is near one of the universities, but it's open to the public. It has a few oddities here and there, thanks to the mana crystals used by the local 'wizards'." He said the last word with a distaste usually reserved for politicians and nextdoor neighbors, and he continued to pace to the docks. "Still, it shouldn't be dangerous, as long as you remember a few simple things. Tell me, what do you know about primates?"

Ffamran gave Adrian a small grin when she hooked arms with him, but otherwise continued to play the part of a young escort.

He was happy enough to see a library, although he didn't often take out books or the like, not literature anyway. He preferred technical manuals. Ffamran had to chuckle at the distaste for wizards, he liked technology and facts and engineering.

"Primates? Quadra and occasionally bipedal, I heard that the librarian is an orangutan..."

"..the librarian..an orangutan?"

Adrian blinked in surprise as she simply tried to imagine it, facing trouble with the mental imagery. Mr. Edgeworth didn't sound too excited about going to that specific library, and she couldn't help but wonder why.

"W-what do I need to know..?"

"Yes, an orangutan," he said, sounding completely serious. "I don't know the whole story, other than the fact that he was originally human until he was on the receiving end of a magical mishap. If it's any consolation, though, he seems quite satisfied with how things have turned out."

Edgeworth walked through the port, and led his companions through the hustle and bustle of travelers and dockworkers towards the street. "However, despite his...condition, he is still quite intelligent, and deserves the same respect due to any other librarian. Just act polite, and follow common sense rules. Remember, though, that he is an orangutan. Not a human, and for the love of god, don't call him a monkey. The former is patronizing, and as for the latter...well, I doubt either of you want to see just what a furious, three hundred pound ape is capable of." He quickly sidestepped a youth that seemed too clumsy for anyone's good, and shot him a glare as he walked on.

"As I was about to say, he's not the only unusual sight at the library. I can't promise anything fantastic like flashing lights or random miracles, but time and space tend to act strange there. It's rather benign - as long as you stay away from the sections for magitech and arcane research - but all the same, try not to wander off on your own."

Ffamran thought that there couldn't be anything cooler than going somewhere where the rules didn't quite apply. He didn't get into as much on the more magical side of things, he was a man of science, in the end.

"Well, I think we'll both take the utmost care with the way we address the librarian." Ffamran sighed, it wasn't as though he was going to check out a book when he had no idea when he'd be back.

"Do they have any particularly rare or interesting collections?" He asked Edgeworth, that might actually be something to write home about ... or something.

"Oh..oh, wow. That's..certainly fascinating. But regardless of whether he was primate or not, I doubt my attitude towards him would differ much. The job of a librarian isn't an easy one and it's most definitely admirable in my books."

Adrian smiled at the young boy who bustled in between them and watched him shoot off into the distance. She turned her attention again at the mention of magitech and gave Edgeworth a tentatively curious stare.

"I've always been interested in the workings of magitech...b-but I suppose I could refrain just this once."

She drifted briefly at the meaning of her small confession, recalling the day Celeste had given her her first book. An all purpose book about magitech and magic and Adrian had been transfixed ever since. She shook her head lightly and pushed back the sliding glasses on her nose at Ffamran's question and waited for a response. If she wasn't allowed to see any books of her most favorite interest, perhaps there'd be something else to make up for it..

Edgeworth glanced as the boy who brushed past Adrian dashed down the street, before he continued. "There's a few, but they're most well known for their ma-"

He cut himself off quickly, and his eyes widened as he realized something. His head whipped around towards where he last saw the long lost klutz, while his eyes narrowed and he gritted his teeth. "My apologies, but could you two please check your pockets?"
