But she had no choice today, and it was a nervous Rikku that went up to find the stupid helmsmen to give them their stupid instructions. Really, why couldn't they do it themselves?
She was so busy complaining about them mentally that she didn't notice when she ran into someone. "Ack, sorry!"

Rikku froze when Hughes turned and she got a good look at his face. She'd seen him. She knew he was dead. She found the body.
Why was he not dead?!

Bleed? He really didn't want to bleed again, but what could he do? "Yeah. I bleed." He slipped a knife from his sleeve and gave his pinky finger a shallow slice, nothing more than a deep paper cut really, but it was enough to bleed. A line of deep red gathered along the line, then slipped around his finger in a bright trail. He slipped the knife away and held out his hand for Rikku to see.

Though she'd never really been close to Hughes, Rikku wrapped her arms around him in a tight hug. "How the heck did you, um, get better?" she asked. "Cuz, well, you looked very much dead."
