Braska was in the infirmary - not really working, per se, as there weren't any serious injuries to deal with, and half the ship seemed to be off enjoying the city, but he was doing some tidying, and organizing some of the records. He had already done his little tour of Licere, picked up a few things for himself - it wasn't really his sort of city, on the whole, and he was content with the quiet for now, after all that had happened.

Unfortunately for Braska (much as it was for just about anyone, really), his peace was not to last long - especially when there was one Kurosaki Isshin in search for his son.

"ICHIIIIIIIIGOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!" went the enthusiastic cry as the man all but burst into the infirmary, somehow managing to spare the door from a terrible fate of being knocked down or broken into splinters. Sometimes, one really had to wonder how he managed to do that.

Braska jumped at the sudden noise, and then winced slightly as the movement jarred ribs that weren't quite completely healed yet. He recovered quickly enough, though, and gave the newcomer a polite smile. "Something I can help you with?" He didn't recognize the man, but he hadn't quite met everyone on board yet...

Recovering quickly after his rather dramatic entrance, Isshin glanced around the infirmary for his precious son - perhaps he might be here instead, what with the Hollow thing and all... that would be perfect then, since he'd be able to ambush and be able to one-up him after all these years! Such was the Kurosaki Way.

His search was interrupted when Braska's voice came from the side, and the man turned round to see the light-haired other before grinning - maybe, this kind man could help him! "Ah yes - you see, I'm currently searching for my darling son on this ship, but he seemed to have disappeared on me... perhaps you might want to aid me on this, fine sir?"

"Ah, are you?" Braska's smile brightened a little more. That was a mission he could understand - although he was going about his own search with quite a bit less shouting. "I'm fairly new here, so I don't know everyone yet - but I'll try to help if I can! What did you say his name was?" He'd been startled enough by the shouting itself that the words themselves had slipped past him.

Isshin grinned back in return - how nice it was, to have someone who understood his mission so well! Certainly, something like this was truly a first in a good while. Really, more people needed to be like this fine man, really.

Blinking once at the question, Isshin grinned once more as he responded. "Ichigo, Kurosaki Ichigo! Orange hair, a little rough on the edges - he's hard to miss." Very hard to miss, as it were, especially after his recent 'stunt'.

Braska's smile faltered slightly at the name. Long Night...that had been messy. He covered it quickly, but the smile that returned was a little tenser. It hadn't been the boy's fault, and none of the injuries had been severe - but they could have been. Still, if this was his father, he deserved what answers Braska could give him. "I haven't seen him since Long Night, unfortunately. I can help you search and see if he's still on board, though."

Isshin had caught that falter rather easily - thanks to Joshua, the man wasn't blind to what had happened to his son. Though the man could honestly say that while he had been expecting the Hollow, he hadn't thought it would make its appearance so soon. He knew his son's powers and abilities could heavily contribute to that, but yet he had this feeling that there was something else as well...

But no matter, that was something he could debate for another time. Keeping his grin, the man nodded once before he spoke. "Why, you don't have to! I already have Hikari-chan helping me, and I'd hate to inconvenience anyone here. My son wouldn't be pleased!"

Braska hesitated for a moment before making up his mind. "No, it wouldn't be an inconvenience - I'm just doing some tidying. It's nothing really necessary." Braska always found it hard to pass up a chance to help someone who needed it - particularly with a cause that resonated so strongly with him. "Like I said, I'm fairly new - but I probably know my way around the ship better, if you're just a visitor."

"Aha, well... if you do insist..." Isshin trailed off somewhat sheepishly then - he did actually feel somewhat bad for making the other man do something like this; he did have Hikari to help him already after all (though where was she, anyway? Maybe he shouldn't have went off so fast...), and it really wouldn't be nice to ask somebody to do something like this.

Scratching the back of his head, the dark-haired man grinned a bit there and then. "Ah, I've been on this ship once before, back during June last year! I only came here though, since I heard that my son was in here..." Strange though, that the same didn't happen now - was the power of his Hollow truly that strong already?

It was honestly somewhat worrying, now that he thought about it.

There was another pause - Braska disliked nosing his way in where it wasn't welcome. There was being helpful, and then there was being rude - and it was hard to say where he stood right now. "Well, if you really don't want help with it..." he said, somewhat hesitantly.

ffff why are they so awkward suddenly daddys_bear January 21 2010, 12:08:47 UTC
"No, no, I don't mind at all!" Isshin immediately interjected, laughing sheepishly as he raised up one hand. "I'd just hate to inconvenience you, that's all - I know how hectic doing work in the infirmary can be. I'm a doctor myself, after all."

...or well, he supposed the other man was a doctor. There was no other reason why he was here otherwise by himself, right?

Because they are too nice :( morninginlight January 22 2010, 10:38:05 UTC
Braska laughed as well - he wasn't totally oblivious to how silly their respective protestations were starting to sound. "It's been fairly quiet here for the last few days, actually." He didn't add that he was probably one of the more injured people on board at the moment - he didn't want Isshin to worry over that. Interesting coincidence that the other man was a doctor, too - perhaps he could find time to talk to him about that, later. "I'm certain if something comes up, someone will find me - it's a big ship, but it's not that big."

I know right. AND PEOPLE SAY ISSHIN IS TERRRIFYING, WHAT ARE THESE LIES. D| daddys_bear January 22 2010, 11:44:09 UTC
It really was quite silly, but silly was something that Isshin was quite used to - after all, he himself was already a bundle of silliness most of the time. Thus, it was something that the man was totally alright with.

Grinning somewhat awkwardly then, all the dark-haired man could return in reply was. "Well, if you insist, I certainly wouldn't mind some extra help!"

Braska's smile was a little surer, now. He gestured towards the still-open infirmary door. "Well, lead on, then - unless he's very well-hidden, your son isn't in here." The slightly reserved amusement was clear in his voice. "And a doctor, you said? Do you work in the city here, or aboard another ship?"

Isshin is a very nice man okay. )8 daddys_bear January 23 2010, 00:47:54 UTC
"Ah, my son is a very good hider!" Isshin started, grin quite fuller now. "Don't you know, he left home without telling me when he was seventeen! And I only found him again early last year!" The doctor laughed then - despite the words he had just said, it was clear that there was no hidden anger or disappointment or anything like that; Isshin was never blind to the desires of his children (on the contrary, he knew it very well indeed) and despite his tendency of being far too overenthusiastic, he actually was giving the best for them.

He perked up at the next question, and the grin now became a tad more wider - a real fellow doctor, then? How wonderful! "Aha, I work on a ship! The Silvana, to be precise. I've been working there since September about two years back or so." And despite the events it had been through, it had been a pretty good job.
