Marluxia had managed to avoid the cheagles. While he wasn't one for shirking work at all and although he would do whatever was required of him on the ship, he wasn't going to go out of his way to capture or kill small furry animals no matter what they were doing to a town. He was never going to end up a good Samaritan, that was for certain.

He'd not made much of an effort to really mingle with his fellow crew members since joining up, so the trip out to the bar was the perfect opportunity for him to meet those that he had not had the 'good' fortune of meeting before. As such, the pink-haired Quartermaster had opted for a glass of rum (well, they didn't seem to stock wine) and intended to enjoy himself as much as he was able to in such a dive, with such a rowdy crew.

He might have looked a little out of place, with his neat clothes and... odd colouration, but it didn't seem to bother him any.

Giovanni had found the cheagle incident amusing, although he had made no effort to join in. There was the possibility that he could steal one and sell it for some good money, but... it'd be far too difficult to hide on the ship.

At least it gave him some ideas for future jobs. He'd have to keep the Team occupied while he was away, after all... But, in any case, the incident before that incident made him want a drink. He'd left Beedrill on the ship; it was a bit too cold for it to go out, and he wanted it well for when he needed it. Although... this really wouldn't have been his first choice, if he were picking a bar. They didn't even have Bourbon, for God's sake. After waffling for a moment he settled on rum, then sat next to a fairly interesting-looking young man.

Marluxia looked over at the man who had decided to park himself next to him. His brow furrowed very slightly as he struggled to remember who he was. Well, he knew his face vaguely, but there was no spark of recognition even after a moment's thought. He was definitely on the 4423, Marluxia thought, but he couldn't say what he did.

"Good evening," he said politely, a smile ghosting onto his lips.

He wore a look of distaste on that pretty face of his, something influenced entirely by the bar. It was a dive, that's all there was to it. He wouldn't be seen dead in a place of that nature if it wasn't where the crew had all planned to go, but, since it was, he was content to look as though he didn't like, albeit in a snotty, stuck up way.

"Evening," said Giovanni cordially, taking a sip of the rum and, surprisingly, not wincing at the taste. From the look of the place, he thought the drinks would be terrible, but it wasn't that bad. Then again, he probably had picked up a high tolerance for terrible liquor over the years, with him having to frequent this place more often than not.

...nevertheless, he did manage to pick up the look on his companion's face. Assuming that the look was in regards to him would lead to unnecessary conflict and, depending on his temperament, would possibly lead to someone being dumped over the side of the 4423.

"You don't seem to be having a good one, though. I take it you're not fond of the location?"

Booze. Praise whatever gods out there that didn't hate Reno. Booze. And, after the wasted cheagles, did Reno need booze.

He sat down on the barstool, sighing heavily. "Whisky, and lots of it. Or rum, if y'don't have whisky." Really, at this moment, Reno wasn't going to be too terribly picky. He just wanted booze.

Some time after his conversation with Marluxia, Toto had taken a seat up on one of the benches and was swinging his legs freely. The bartender had initially told him to get down, but in the end, didn't bother when he had other more pressing concerns, like the brawl that had broken out earlier. And Toto was a paying customer...

When Reno came in and sat down nearby, Toto shuffled across the bench to sit closer to Reno. "You don't look happy," Toto said to him with a grin. "Eat, drink! Share in the love!"

What the hell was this kid smoking? Reno looked over at Toto. "Aren't you a little young t'drink, yo?" he asked.

Toto pointed to himself, eyes wide. "Me?" He'd been stopped before for being 'too young', and didn't have papers to prove he was old enough to drink. The idea that someone could be 'too young' was weird. "Nope! They let me in."

Souji wasn't a drinker, even socially. He didn't care for alcohol or the way it made people act, and truth be told, he'd been a little hesitant to even come to the bar at all. But given the alternative was to stay on the ship working or some other equally solitary pursuit, he'd decided it was better to put in an appearance here. The crew certainly deserved the chance to unwind, after all, and he wasn't going to begrudge them their fun, whatever form it might take. He plastered on the smile he usually used in these sorts of situations and found himself a seat, content to listen to the talk of his crew-mates and enjoy the company.

Isako wasn't situated very far away from Souji, but her face held the complete opposite expression, but this kind of unpleasant expression was normal for her. Still, she had some important things to think about. Giving her mug one last glance, she shoved it aside roughly, some of it spilling onto the counter top.

After staring at the spillage for a moment (and making no move to clean it up) she turned to Souji, the person who happened to be closest to her at the time. "Do you have paper and a pencil or something?" she asked. There were a few things she needed to work out and they just weren't coming together in her mind.

Souji blinked a little--he'd admittedly been zoning out a little, enjoying everyone else's happiness--before he began rummaging around in his pockets. After a moment, he came up with a handful of crumpled papers and a pencil, though it took him a bit to find a piece that didn't have his own designs and notes scrawled all over it.

"Here you go," he replied cheerfully as he handed both items over.

Isako wasn't counting on it, but she should have figured that a mechanic would carry around these things. It would probably be a good idea for her to carry them around, too, but she tended to forget these things for other essentials, like her gun.

She took the paper from him with a mumbled "thanks." It was surprising that she remembered to do even that much; the thoughts in her mind were quickly overtaking any penchant for conversation she still had. She set the paper out in front of her, careful not to get it near the spilled rum, though some of it still touched the paper's edge. Now, when did it all start...?

She started to scribble a few things down, mumbling out each one, "...ran into Victoria II, assassinations at the 'peace' talks, sabotaged pipes... damn, that was when the Victoria II showed up again and the bombings happened--"

Mifune was seated nearby. He was not a habitual drinker, but not opposed to it when it was socially appropriate.

He was a little unsure about the Captain, though. She certainly had no qualms about drinking...but she seemed awfully young for it, to his mind.

He leaned over to her. "You are old enoughfor that?"

After all that thinking, Isako had gone back to her drink. She figured she definitely deserved it at this point. Of course, there was always a chance for that moment to be ruined.

"I'm a Captain. That qualifies me to drink," Isako responded tersely in an attempt to dodge that question. She may not have been entirely old enough when she had first started drinking, but it was too late to change the habit and it wasn't like anyone in this country really cared. Well, everyone but Mifune anyway.

Mifune was bright enough to spot the ducking of a question when he saw it. That statement was a tacit admission that no, she was not.

"How old are you, really?"

"Fifteen," Isako mumbled. It was almost sixteen now. She couldn't help the fact that her body hadn't kept up. "Happy now?"

Another opportunity to drink and laugh with friends was always welcome! Dimo had a seat on a barrel nearby the drinks--the better to serve himself, of course!--and took the nearest bottle, pouring a healthy dose of it into his oversized tankard.

"To de ship, und our crew!" he toasted to no one in particular, and took a long gulp."

Marluxia, on his way back from the bar after a refill, stopped near the green-skinned Jäger. He hadn't really spoken to him very much since seeing him when he'd first signed on and, unfortunately, being called 'dollink' by the man was seared onto his memory forever. Well, at least he was toasting something worthwhile, even if the ship and it's crew didn't so much flirt with bad luck as drag it into a dark alley and have it's wicked way with it.

"To the ship, and the crew." He said in return, holding up his glass with a faint smile.

Dimo wiped his mouth on his sleeve, grinned at Marluxia, and sat his cup down on the edge of the table. The area was overrun with scent of alcohol, so he couldn't quite tell what the other man was drinking, but he hoped that it was something good and strong. But the mere fact that the quartermaster was seemed happy to drink with the Jaegers was good enough for Dimo, and if Marluxia hadn't had anything that strong, he'd just have to offer to mix something.

"Ain't sick of us yet, eh?" Dimo inquired, patting the railing of the ship as though it were an old friend. "Even vith all de bad luck dot ve's been through lately?"

"I think I can cope," Marluxia replied, his expression not changing much.

The bad luck wasn't so bad, as far as he was concerned. It made the ship a good place to hide from those who wanted him very dead, even if one of them had managed to join the crew without him realising. Well, they'd come to an agreement. It didn't matter.

"How about you? How am I doing as Quartermaster on his vessel plagued by ill fate?"

Sure, he was less likely to jump into the midst of a fight like the other one, but it didn't mean that he couldn't if he felt inclined to that.
