Yuri lay splayed on the thin bed, staring at the ceiling. He'd finally gotten himself arranged so that the wound on his side - recently cleaned and bandaged, thanks to the prison doctors - didn't hurt when he breathed. It was certainly not the first time he'd been in prison, but this wasn't one he recognized and that was enough to make him uncomfortable, restless in his skin.

Not to mention, of course, the part where he was back under suspicion for the Ragou incident. Fuckin' miserable.

Celes walked into the prison and stopped in front of the appropriate cell. She said nothing, seeing as how she was only here to keep an eye on things.
She stepped back and leaned on the wall behind her, then slowly began to analyze Lowell.

From this angle, he didn't look particularly intimidating. Of course, lying on a bed, covered in bandages, while in prison doesn't do much for anyone's appearance. Not that it made him less dangerous, or guilty, she knew better then to think like that. She had just expected someone a little different.

Yuri heard the woman come in, and caught a brief glimpse of her out of the corner of his eye, though he didn't move under her scrutiny. Probably just another soldier come to gawk at the prisoner, he thought, though he didn't blame her - not like there was much else to do on duty.

"So," Yuri drawled, still not moving, "like what you see?"

His question startled her for a moment. She hadn't expected him to speak. Once Celes registered the question she rolled her eyes. Ah, one of those, she mused.

"I'm here to make sure you stay put," she said sharply and leaned back into the wall.

Beat had been in his cell longer then the two older men, and it was starting to show. The teen's clothing was dirty and a little ragged, more from his own frustrated thrashing then anything, his eyes a little hollow... and the dozens of scratchings on the walls of his cell. He paced like a wild cat, and bellowed like one too, once and awhile. Waking his block-mates, most likely.

Like right now. He didn't even bother with threats and demands anymore.

von Karma wanted his men to keep an eye on Lowell, and it wasn't in Edgeworth's nature to refuse an order like that. That's what brought him to the prison that day; he had been walking to Lowell's cell, intent on getting a few answers out of him.

That's when he heard Beat.

He stopped midstep as soon as he heard his ungodly howls. He stared, and it took him a moment to remember him; it was the pirate brat they captured from the ship. He was awfully young, wasn't he? He wasn't quite a child, but he lacked the experience - and the strength - of his older brethren. This must be his first time in prison, Edgeworth assumed.

Once he noticed he was being watched, Beat stopped yelling. His throat hurt anyway, and it'd be a few hours or so before his next meal and something to drink. But he didn't think that far ahead.

Instead he stared at the man in pink, blinking in dull surprise. This guy was new. But his frozen stance didn't last long. Instead he charged the bars, pressing his chest against them and hoping to spook the guy a little. He didn't try to reach through them: one guard had already bent his fingers back a little for that stunt. Beat was a little dimmer then most, but he could learn.

"Yo, what you lookin' at, bacon?"

Edgeworth's eyes widened in surprise; it was only a momentary reflex. He could have easily composed himself, except...

"B-Bacon?!" Edgeworth glowered at him, and continued, "Who do you think you're calling-"

He stopped himself quickly. It would do no good to stoop to his level.

Raven was just on his bed, too, splayed over it, probably on the verge of falling asleep. This place was too boring, and too bland. But that was his fault -- being stupid enough to be caught by a wounded cop who threw a crutch to his head. He massaged his head (and his chest) a bit, thinking.

He yawned and turned his head, eyes closed and counting sheeps in his head. Really, if they were going to keep him here for a while, he might as well sleep the day away. Old men like him need to keep their energies on high, right?

ME TOO 8D! Also let's pretend there's some measure of visibility between cells or something lustrolupo January 9 2010, 00:12:24 UTC
Had it been a contest, Yuri probably could have matched Raven for 'most bored while in the clank'. Hours of laying on his cot were only made worse by the fact that he couldn't sleep, thanks to the irritatingly itchy feeling of skin knitting back together under his bandages. He didn't mind getting hurt - it was the healing part that always sucked.

Yuri rolled his head to the side, glancing at the row of bars along the top of one wall. From what he could hear in the quiet of the jail - now that the kid on the other side had finally stopped snoring, that was - there was someone in that adjacent cell.

"Hey," he called out, aimed at the cell next-door, "you alive over there?"

Raven groaned -- he was just about ready to sleep, too. He rolled off his -- well, if you could call it a 'bed', why not, and sat up, rubbing his bleary eyes. "Kid, if ya don't mind, I'd rather get some sleep. I'm sure that other kid would appreciate the sentiment, too."

Really, he would totally recognize who you were, Yuri, if he wasn't: a) sleepy; b) old; and c) grumpy.

Sob I'm sorry I'm bad at not being slow lustrolupo January 22 2010, 16:57:49 UTC
"That kid could sleep through a thunderstorm," Yuri groused. Beat was way too fucking loud, but at least that meant someone around here was getting rest.

"So what're you in for?" There weren't currently any guards around worth bothering, so Yuri figured annoying his jail-mate was the next best thing.
