The waiting had been tedious, brutal in its own way. From time to time the thought had risen to her unbidden that she could simply disappear, and she still was not sure exactly what stubborn perversity had made her reject it. Perhaps is was only: I am Yoruichi Shihōin, and this is what I do. There are rules for how I must behave, I must follow them to the best of my abilities. Even if those rules were her own, over the years they seemed to have grown as ironclad as those of her ancestors.

And now finally, finally after so long her patience had been rewarded with an enormous burst of information. The location of some of the vizards. The abilities of some of her own crew mates. The kind of people assigned to the Victoria II. Naturally, it was this Yoruichi wished to investigate first, for in this matter her window of time was most limited. There were so many threads, if she had the patience over the months she could unravel knot after knot to check their connection.

Now, her sights were set on a man she did not have to identify through more arcane methods. Having transformed into her feline form far away, she now surveyed him through narrowed yellow eyes that showed a world leeched of color. Zolf Kimbley, aka The Crimson Alchemist, did not feel the need to disguise himself. Understandable perhaps, because the man definitely had friends in high places, or at least, influential ones. For his crimes, he had been sentenced to death, only to be released from prison without being cleared of charges. Clearly corruption or underhanded dealing was involved. Whether or not the person who pulled these strings had any relation to the person who could manage to get innocent people sentenced to death remained to be seen.

She did not expect to learn anything too shocking from him at once. That was not the way things worked. This was not an interrogation. Merely, a chance to observe, and interact if things developed naturally. She padded towards him casually, looking for all the world like an ordinary black house cat.
