Beat had been in a lot of strange and dangerous places in his short life. He hadn't been there when the 4423 had been held on threat of terrorism, but a lot of the other craziness? Oh yeah, front and center. The fall from the ship and the week of survival with Winry and Greed-Ling was just the peak of it all.
But even so, Beat had never been more afraid then he was right now.
He remembered his conversation with Anko after Doma: The best he could hope for was a quick hanging. He was sure von Karma could think of worse.
The young pirate had yelled himself hoarse long ago, and now simply slumped in one corner, trying to be brave. He wasn't fighting off tears. No way in hell! He was too much of a hardass for that! Honest...
