And right when the door was slammed shut, he raised an eyebrow at him. He wonders why Pip himself wasn't fighting along with the others. However, there could be some who are still healing from the cave ins or decided to stay behind to watch the ship. Everyone has their choices after all. The slam also woke up the small kitten, which end up stretching and yawning before jumping off the bed to go eat from a small bowl in the corner of the room.

He smiled back at the grin, not minding the actions of his little pet. "Very nice, isn't it?" Grell went back to his vanity, getting back into his seat, but looking at Pip and not his reflection. The only times that Grell been outside was to get something eat or to take a walk around the ship, not letting his legs fall asleep. He's one that must keep moving and that can never stay still. And it's a good thing that Pip decided to come to his cabin, so he's not exactly alone. He checked that his journal is off, so nobody can heard them and give away Pip's hiding spot.

"Feel free to take a seat and relax, Pip. You're perfectly safe here~"

At Grell's words, the brunette sagged visibly against the door, looking far more relieved than he thought he would be. Seriously, this whole thing was proving to be far more trouble than it was worth - while he was out of danger for now due to everyone else being occupied by the whole thing going on, Pip knew without a doubt that once this was over, he was most likely going to get chewed out by most of the crew. Or to be more precise, a certain redhead fellow quartermaster by the name of Erza Scarlet. The man did well to not shudder too visibly at the imaginations that haunted his mind. He really was pretty screwed.

"Aha, zanks," the quartermaster went as he pushed himself off from the door and started to make his way to the edge of Grell's bed where he promptly flopped himself there with a loud sigh. His hat dropped off from his head as he did so, revealing a mop of rather mussed up russet red hair. "'ere's hopin' zat nobody's going to drop in 'ere while ze whole zing's going on." Because if anyone saw him in here... then well, he'd really be in trouble.

He leaned forward to pick up the fallen hat from the ground, listening to Pip's current issue right now. Still connected to an old ship, that has troubling reputations and relationships, can cause some issues. While the redhead was on the safe side, the other was not. But, the only thing that Grell could offer is to let Pip stay here until all of this madness is over with.

"Everyone is too busy with the little, fun fiasco out there. I only got a few visitors to tell you the truth."

It's a bit sad, but true. The only ones who visited was William, who had to ask about Grell's adventure ever since he first got onto this ship, and Orihime, who was a new doctor that managed to check up on him every day. The boatswain would be fighting out there if only he wouldn't get dragged back by the two first. But, at least he didn't go or Pip will be alone a bit. And having someone to talk to is all Grell needs to keep him entertained well. "And, of course, I'll keep my little secret and won't tell anyone that you are here with me." And Grell is like a queen of keeping many secrets, besides things that are just mere gossip. He'll share that mostly.

Pip only sighed again at the other's remark, one gloved hand moving to cover over his eyes from the light filtering through the cabin window. He could hear the sounds of gunfire and explosions even from here that came from the battle that was taking place between the other two ships. He was glad that the Fiertia hadn't decided to join the the battle yet, but he knew eventually...

The brunette kept his gaze to ceiling as he removed his hand, voice tinged with an edge of tiredness as he spoke. "Well, zat certainly is a comfort." And it really was, since that'd mean he wasn't going to be grilled by the rest of the crew (especially Erza). Yet. For now, at least. Though he knew he was going to be in deep shit for this once all of this was over.

...and once again, Pip was forced to wonder if remaining on the Fiertia had been a good idea. Sure it was nice being with fellow like-minded people but... the trouble that came with it was just too much at times.

He shooked his head before standing up again, walking in front of Pip and looking down at the higher ranked officer. Poor guy, dealing with the stress of this fight and he's going to get more once he goes out of hiding. Mostly when another one is going to choke him once she finds him.

Going to attempt to cheer him up, Grell set the brown hat back onto the other's head, offering his best smile. "You shouldn't get too depress now!" He took a seat next to him. Hey, officers should help everyone in the crew right?

"You know, staying all gloomy like that won't make things better~"

Another sigh at that - this was seriously going to be a new habit of this now, at this rate. There was a pause after that, and then the brunette exhaled loudly as he shifted and pushed himself up to now sit at the edge of the bed instead, looking at the nearby wall of the room somewhat dully. The hat was somewhat lopsided now, due to the taking and reputting as well as the lack of proper placing due to Grell. Not that the other minded, anyway.

"Yeah, I know..." started the quartermaster, resisting the urge to take off his hat out of habit; his hair would just get even messier. Instead he just sighed (again) and turned to look out of the cabin window where there were sparks of gunfire and bullets firing at each other. He didn't need to be psychic to know about how much shit he was going to be in after all of this.
