Minus the hideous tie, he looked none the worse for the wear. In fact, improved considerably, now that she thought about it. No tie, hair slightly mussed, little sweaty. Oh, and he had some serious fight face going on, too. It definitely reminded her that if he had been a different blond she would have jumped him with even less mercy and certainly no quarter given no matter how many fetching colors he turned. But honor had required sacrifices, up to and including the loss of her favorite scratching post. One makes due, and life goes on. We bury the heart and keep moving.
He didn't see her, which made her feel strangely lonely, thinking the other one might have. Perhaps that was just hope. She worked her way behind him, feeling nostalgic and sheathing her sword. People did deserve to have some fun. Her quiet little cat feet sprang forward tip-tip-tip until both toes lifted from the deck and one leg curled up to wrap itself around his neck from behind. Normally, the leg would quickly be withdrawn, the aim simply to yank the opponent down. But not today. As soon as the first leg got braced she used the leverage to swing the other one up and over as well. He'd either right himself, fall down, or possibly try to stab her. Her right hand hovered at the mid-point between moving for her sword and helping her fall.

It was quite the understatement to say that Shinji was startled by the sensation of legs wrapping around his neck. No, it was more along the lines of WHAT THE FUCK GET IT OFF, followed by some other curses directed at himself for being caught so off-guard. Surprised, he nearly lost the grip on his zanpakutou as he brought up a hand in some poor attempt to pry the thighs apart. This failed, of course.
He stumbled forward a step or two, trying to catch his balance (and breath), but it was all too sudden and the boy abruptly tipped over, his sword clanging loudly against the deck as he tumbled palmfirst onto the unforgiving wood.

He...really wasn't moving fast enough. Was he even staying in shape? She was certain he was a better fighter than this. He just needed a little more fear put him, she decided. But a quick blow to the back of the skull wouldn't do it. So, mindful of her surroundings she backed up just enough to give him room to recover.

The frazzled Vizard quickly righted himself, rolling over into a seated position as he stared up at--
... wait. Waitwaitwait. What the hell? What the hell?!
He could never mistake that deep purple hair, the chocolately skintone and piercing eyes. This was definitely her. But... why was she here? And whose side was she on? Was she against him this time? He had so many things he wanted to ask her, but the first thing that escaped his mouth was a cut-off "Y--" that could've been a "You" or a stutter of her name. Either way, if he was shocked before, he was downright incredulous now. Finally, Shinji grabbed his blade and dazedly got back on his feet, gaze never leaving her face. Yoruichi Shihouin.
Well, for one, she was definitely a sight for sore eyes right about then.
"What're you doing here?" he questioned, confusion staining his words.

"I might ask you the same question," she said, savoring the look in his eyes. "YOU BASTARD!"
With that, she suddenly swung the blade as if to slash across his midsection.

That startled stupor was effectively wiped right off Shinji's face at the threat of danger. So did this mean she was against him? Well, it almost didn't come as a surprise; it had been a year and some. Or as far as he could remember, which he didn't have time to do since there was a sword coming at him, and fast. Instinctively, he rewrapped his fingers around the hilt of his own and moved to block the attack, unsure of how to progress.
He didn't want to fight her, but she wasn't giving him much of a choice. Either he'd defend, or lose his life trying to resist an old friend. What she was so pissed off about, he had no idea, and he didn't really want to ask right at that second, so he assumed a defensive stance, prepared to cross swords with Yoruichi if that was what she had planned.

The rest of her body remained close, very close, for she was shorter than he, and the top of the foot which pinned his wrist none too gently was stretched upwards in quite a show of flexibility indeed. She had no doubt he had the strength to throw her off, and he should, but she was anticipating the delicious moment of confusion she hoped he would give her. The gleam of enjoyment in her eyes should help with that.
Let that teach him to lower his guard.

Something that sounded suspiciously like a sputter (or a squeak, if you listened closely enough) left the blond's lips as he was, once again, caught by surprise. For a moment there, his life flashed before his eyes when that blade came flying through the air for the goods. And then when it hit just below, he barely resisted a sigh a relief. There was more to life than destruction of your parts, probably, but it was the only thing he was concerned about right now, pinned wrist aside.
Feeling incredibly lost, and almost a little angry at the same time, Shinji glared down at her, amber meeting gold. "Did you forget to take your crazy pills this morning?!" he screeched, so very unamused.

“I SHOULD HAVE KILLED YOU WHEN I HAD THE CHANCE!” she screamed at him, face contorting into a mask of righteous indignation as she leaned in towards him. “HOW COULD YOU LEAVE ME WHEN I WAS PREGNANT LIKE THAT, YOU ASSHOLE?!”

Shinji merely stared back at her, dumbfounded, his own expression shifting to horror and incredulity. "W-What the hell are you talking about, you psycho woman!?" was all he could manage to yell back while he clenched his fist tight, wrist muscles straining beneath the pressure of her foot as he tried to yank it away.
He wished he knew what was going on. He did. But for some reason, he didn't think he'd be getting an explanation anytime soon. Obviously she was screwing with him -- in the very platonic and non-literal sense, of course -- but there was no indication as to why she was doing it, which left him feeling just a little more than Very Fucking Confused.
What did Yoruichi have planned?

"How could you just leave me like that? Was I really so unattractive? So many men think I am! And then to run away with my sister...I’LL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!"
C’mon Shinji, she thought, watching his face. Let me see you’ve smartened a little bit.

In turn, the Vizard stared at her, brows furrowing slightly as he processed the things she was hollering at him. He really wasn't sure what was going on, but since she was blatantly spewing lies, she had to have a reason. Yoruichi wasn't a moron, and especially not a moron without a plan. So what was her plan this time? There weren't any clear hints.
But this was getting a little too weird, so he decided to play along.
"Well maybe if you weren't so far off your goddamn rocker, I wouldn't have left you in the first place!" he shot back, fighting against his restraints once more, but more for show this time than anything else. "And your sister was hot, so I thought I'd hitch a ride with her, y'know?"
Reply
"Don’t you dare speak about her that way!" she hissed. "I’ll kill you for this, I really will!"
With that she pushed hard against his wrist, using the leverage to draw her sword out of the wood. He’d better not be too slow this time, or she might draw a little bit of blood. For his own good, naturally. He was far too trusting.

Which was something Shinji already knew and didn't need to be reminded of. As soon as the blade disappeared from between his legs, he reacted immediately, his opposite hand flying up to wrap around her ankle and yank it away from his wrist. He ducked his head beneath his arm in an almost graceful move that had him holding her leg captive and facing her guarded side. And this time, he was more than ready to defend himself against her.
The only thing that changed this time around, apart from the momentary transferral of having the upper hand, was the natural smugness that started to appear in his expression.
"It's nice to see you too, Yoruichi."
He smirked.

"After you, I will never love again," she deadpanned, pleased to note the nice, firm grip he had on her ankle. A girl gets her ankle grips where she can, after all. As she had been twisted into her new position, she had brought her sword up and over her leg in a guarding position, not that she had expected him to attack first, but always she prepared.
"Hhhhhhhyaaa!" Now she swung upward, intending to push against his blade and use the leverage of her remaining foot to free herself. Likely this extraction would not be graceful, but that was what flips and rolls were for.

Well, if it was a flip Yoruichi was looking for, she would get one.
His sword met her own in a loud clash of metal, folded metal grinding against metal as the blond leaned in, bending her captive leg at the knee while he kicked at her opposite ankle with as much force as he could muster without really hurting her. The intention was to get her off her feet, but he knew it wasn't going to be easy. Shinji was aware this was a mock fight of sorts, but if he didn't take it seriously, well, he could end up on his back or up against a wall again.
And he knew she'd like that, so that was something he wanted to avoid at all costs.
