The moment the Captain issued the order to clear away the debris and make the needed reparations, Tear unsurprisingly leapt to her duty as quickly as if it threatened to escape from her grasp. In her typical, no-nonsense manner, she went about supervising and lending a hand to the crew members, in her endeavor to ensure optimal recovery of the Silvana's status. There was an undeniable amount of destruction left to attend, and if she hoped for the ship to return to its former condition under the given time constraints, it would take precise, efficient movement. Following this train of thought, it wasn't long before the quartermaster wound up making an inspection of the hangar ( ... )

Nena was 20 meters away from her plane when she first heard the footsteps. Annoyance washed over her, but rather than waste her time tensing up, she started to run the rest of the distance. Keeping her own footsteps as light as possible, she hoped to hide in her plane before she came into view. She’d made it to ten meters when she heard the order. Skidding to a stop, she immediately turned to face the direction of the speaker. She had little idea as to what she was going to do or say, but she also knew that any delayed movements would draw more attention to her. The young woman striding across the hangar to her wasn’t someone she recognized, but voice did sound slightly familiar. She couldn’t put her finger on where she’d heard it before, but decided that it didn’t matter. All crew members were more-or-less the same... weren’t they ( ... )

The young woman's features grew clearer with each step she took, but it wasn't until the other spoke her own name that Tear managed to figure out her identity. At the mention of the planes, the quartermaster slowed her gait by a slight fraction to run her gaze across the surrounding air vehicles. A few of their surfaces were undoubtedly scratched and marred by the previous predicament, but it didn't seem like there was anything in need of dire attention. Chances were, the ship didn't try to assault the area very often since most of the crew members wouldn't find the hangar a safe place to hide.

"While that's true, the planes aren't the highest priority right now," she stated, in a tone one could easily consider reprimanding. "There are other areas of the Silvana that are more important. Let's fix those first and return to fix the crafts later."

I smell a potential fight scene. Do you? pink_is_best October 23 2009, 17:54:04 UTC
Nena felt her smile twitch slightly, but kept a happy expression on her face. If she was going to pull off her lies, she had to continue acting as if she had 100% conviction in whatever she said. She didn't think she could win in a battle of logic, as the lady's seemed cool and concise. But by giving the impression of absolute belief in herself, she could win the battle of wills. In the current situation, it would mean convincing the lady that it would be less trouble to simply have Nena help as she wished, rather than waste both of their time by trying to make her assist in a more productive manner. Untrue of course, but she didn't need somebody trying to stop her from taking off. Incapacitating her felt unnecessary when there were less consequential ways of dealing with the "problem".

"But what if something attacked us?" She shifted slightly on the balls of her feet. "The Silvana would be totally defenseless! We are in the Badlands you know - anything could happen out here! And that's why we need see to it that all the planes are ( ... )
