Characters: Mihashi & Abe
Content: Mihashi's going to join Abe on the Catcher, just as soon as Abe comes back and picks him up so that he doesn't fly a barely-functioning plane into battle on his own, the idiot.
Setting: The hanger on the Fiertia.
Time: Amid cannon-fire! Before the Fiertia pilots haul out to rescue assist the Victoria.
Warnings: Lots of stammering and rage to be had, I'm sure.
Albeit reluctantly, Mihashi had finally crawled out of the stock plane's cockpit and moved toward the hangar bay. Abe better not have been lying to get him out of the plane or something. Mihashi was fidgeting with his cap, bounding a little on the balls of his feet as he watched the sky outside with anticipation. He was going to fly Catch again with Abe and he'd been waiting for a long time to be able to do it again! He wondered if she'd still handle the same, Abe's little plane, and if Abe would still give him signs even though he hadn't wanted to take him up in the first place.
What if Abe had gotten so good with her while he was gone that he didn't need or want Mihashi to be his pilot anymore? What if he didn't like the tricks Mihashi'd learned with Tajima? What if he let him into the plane but made him sit in the back?! That would be the worst. Mihashi's fingers would itch the entire time just looking at the controls. As it was, he squeezed his eyes shut into the wind and clenched his fists to try and make his trembling stop, but he was just so excited to fly with his navigator again, he couldn't help it!
He could barely keep the wobbly grin off his face once she was landing. "Ah! A-Abe," he shouted, only barely audible over the engine, "Th-thank you! For coming back!"
