I should like to contest this; Banquo was quite a fine ghost as well doctor_is_out September 23 2009, 01:52:19 UTC
Perhaps Ryuuken could have sat back and let this happen. Even after spending the better part of a year on board the Silvana, he harbored no particular attachment to it.

However, the situation was grave, and it had spurred even Ryuuken into action. His bow was not out, but the five-pointed star that had been passed to him at Souken's death was tied around his wrist, and his weapon could be summoned at a moment's notice. He had dodged most of what the ship had thrown at him, though one jacket sleeve was torn near the upper arm. His eyes were grave and focused.

He approached Alex Rowe, with a brief nod and a muttered, "Captain," to acknowledge the other man's presence. Ryuuken was ready to tackle this unruly ghost.

They could go well together. daddys_bear September 23 2009, 03:58:59 UTC
Likewise for all his constant fooling around, Isshin could not let this go unchecked. There was a violent ghost that was haunting this ship, and if it got any worse the spirit could very well become a Hollow instead. And if that happened... well. Things would seriously go to hell then. It was better that they got rid of the ghost now before anything too big could happen.

He brought his zanpaktou along for this, of course - it was still sealed in order to hide its proper power, but it was enough for him to bash up a ghost when necessary (such as now). He managed to get to the engine room without much incident, looking as he always did when he arrived on scene a bit after Ryuuken, grinning and greeting them happily and generally trying to be his usual cheery self in spite of the situation at hand.

"Captain-san! Ryuuken! Nice to see you two here!"

Gin had already been waiting, with what might have been misconstrued as eagerness but really had a lot more to do with hiding how much this whole situation was wearing on him. It didn't help that anything and everything seemed to be attacking him with a particular vengeance, or perhaps that was just paranoia speaking. Either way, all his thoughts were hidden behind his usual smiling mask, although he made the slightest of inclinations towards the Captain and the doctors, the first out of pretended respect and the latter out of equally false friendliness.

"Gentlemen," he greeted, not quite as forcefully cheery as Isshin, but seemingly unperturbed by the ominous rattle of pipes around them and the more disturbing sounds emitting from the engine room. "Glad to see I won't be walking into my death all alone."

I agree with Gin.. Casper owns all. Hope its ok me posting. Seems as Kanda was in there fighting sobaisnice September 23 2009, 15:42:26 UTC
Kanda had his back against the wall close by to where the others seemed to be gathering, he was a little bloody leaning against his sword a little. He appeared to be catching his breath, he looked pale and a little bloody.

He half listened to the conversation of the three men that had already arrived, sounded like they were going back in to deal with the ghost. He wouldn't mind going back in, they had to get rid of this ghost as soon as possible. Maybe he could help out, for now he caught his breath waiting for them to head in before he'd move again.

"There is nothing nice about seeing me here," Alex said to Isshin, icily. "I would not be here at all if things were 'nice'."

he looked around at the assembled crew. "Do we have the magical resources here to carry out the exorcism?"

Ryuuken shot Gin an icy look. "You will hardly be 'walking into your death,' Ichimaru." He turned back to the captain as he continued, "If I did not, I would not be here."

He did not speak for Isshin; the man would reveal his power when he thought it necessary, and Ryuuken was not about to betray that so carelessly.

WHO DO YOU CALL? GHOSTBUSTERS! daddys_bear September 24 2009, 03:06:44 UTC
In contrast to both Alex's and Ryuuken's iciness, Isshin only laughed out, sounding as chipper as he had always been. "Ah, don't get so uptight! Ryuuken and I will solve this problem in no time!" Even if it had been awhile, Isshin had ensured that he was in proper condition to make a move in this sort of event - and he was sure that his fellow friend had done the same as well.

He then turned to Gin, expression turning into something more serious as he addressed the Radio Ops. "Ichimaru-san, when the exorcism starts please do ensure that you don't get hurt in the process. It could get rather violent." And having any injuries was the last thing that the doctor - both of them - needed.

It was as the Captain surveyed the assembled crew and made his query that Tear arrived, the gentle click of her heels unobtrusively announcing her presence amidst the sounds of the engine room situated next door. She would've preferred to make her entrance earlier, but she wanted to ensure most the crew members safely made it to a secure location of either the infirmary or outside the ship. However, with this goal generally accomplished, she undoubtedly made haste to reach the designated area.

Slowing to a halt as she caught Alex's inquiry, the quartermaster gave a slight nod, as an affirmative response to his question and a respectful greeting at the same time. Glancing over at the rest, she silently took into account Kanda's wounds and Gin's state. The Radio Operator seemed relatively copacetic, but with his precarious position, she intended to keep an eye on him at the same time. Even with two doctors standing ready, it was best to prepare for the unexpected. As for the former, she wasn't entirely clear on how keen he was on ( ... )

Kanda finally got up, glancing at the others that had now joined the small group. Looking at each one, one by one. He didn't recognise many, only Gin and the Captain.

He remained quiet for now just watching and listening to the others.

'Rather violent', as Isshin had suggested, was normally the kind of prospect that Gin would be practically gleeful about facing. He still was, despite the fact that he was going to be forced to downplay his role, both to hide how determined he was to silence this ghost for good and...well, he'd made a promise to Tear. That meant something, if only to stay on her good side.

Speaking of which, he smiled at the woman as she approached the group. He hadn't doubted she would make an appearance, although he wasn't sure if her powers would have much of an impact on the ghost. Perhaps she was only here to supervise, in which case he'd be happy to put on a good show for her.

"I'm sure I'm in capable hands," he told Isshin, sparing a pointed look to every member of the group before gesturing to the door. "In which case, shall we proceed?"

"Let's," Alex said simply, advancing towards the sealed door in an otherwise wordless manner. He took no pleasure form this ghost's presence on his ship, and was eager to see him gone.

Ryuuken had no objections. The star at his wrist hummed with energy, and an instant later, a bow of energy appeared at his fingertips.

He'd been ready for the past five minutes. It was time to deal with this stubborn spirit. He advanced to Alex Rowe's side, bow up and ready.

Unlike Ryuuken's display, Isshin himself did nothing - he didn't unseal his zanpaktou, since his powers were still a secret. Unless it was necessary, then he'd draw out his powers. Otherwise, he'd simply be the part of that one strange doctor who most likely knew more than he should. And had the ability to deal with ghosts as well, but then a lot of people in Reial happened to had that ability. He supposed they could deal.

Tightening the hold on his blade, the man went up alongside Ryuuken, the expression on his face somewhat relaxed - but there was no hiding the look of determination that was across there. They were going to get rid of the spirit, one way or another.

Tear silently followed suit, moderating her pace to an extent that allowed her to keep an eye on anyone walking behind with a slower gait. While she didn't quite tighten her grasp on her weapon, her fingers subtly shifted around her sharpened staff in preparation. If the specter's manipulation of the ship itself didn't already serve as an indication of its strength, then she certainly knew better than to underestimate an opponent.

Even if their aforementioned opponent was most likely Jean Morris.

Somehow, it seemed utterly ironic that the man she investigated for so long ended up becoming their enemy. However, she wouldn't dare let that fact -- nor the idea that he was now a ghost -- outwardly unnerve her. Instead, she kept her usual, composed face, with the only difference that it appeared a fraction tenser than normal.

Kanda moved to walk alongside Tears, Mugen was still sheathed for now. But he gripped the sheathed sword tightly. Time for round 2, this time this ghost was going to be dealt with.

Kanda glanced at the backs of the people walking ahead on him, The Captain, Gin.... it would be a good opportunity to see how strong they were.

He couldn't stop the small smirk creeping over his face at the thought of fighting again, he swiftly drew out Mugen tossing the sheath to the side. He wasn't going to need that where they were going.

Gin hadn't been down as deep as the engine room since the ship has started coming to life. He'd had enough trouble just with the minimal electronics in the radio room, but at least now he knew what to expect. When the door to the engine room opened he pulled a little ahead of the group, keeping well away from the walls or machinery and keeping an eye out for anything that might vengefully try to throw itself at him.

If the ghost was down here, he couldn't see it...at least not anywhere obvious. He wondered if he should just try calling Morris out to see if anything interesting happened.
