Characters: Uni Giglio Nero onlyluminous, anyone in need of healing
Content: Injuries and the consequences of dealing with them.
Setting: Medical tent just outside the mines.
Time: Post-collapse onward.
Warnings: No violence, but possibly mentions of gore. The swearing of patients being subjected to medical treatment...?
Notes: Rather than set up several separate threads in the cave-in post, perhaps this would be a bit more organized? Injured people and doctors, please feel free to set up new threads; if there are any healers in the vicinity you're encouraged to help out if you like ♥

She hadn't allowed herself to fear.

It was better this way. Uni had been emptied and hollowed out to create an instrument, one shaped according to the purpose of the man called her god, and no matter how much the Fiertia might have changed the surface of that the root remained: she would do what she had to. No matter the cost.

And so she would swallow her fear and that peculiar ache in her chest when she thought about people -- she knew them; did it matter? -- trapped in caves of earth. And work her fingers to the bone as long as it was needed. She couldn't -- be where they were. Couldn't share in what they had; couldn't join them, instead was forced to remain separate. Inviolate. That had always been her burden: to stay and wait and watch and take the consequences in her hands when they returned.

That was all she could do. But wasn't that all she was meant to do?

Uni bit her lip and finished suturing the wound in one miner's arm, her hands moving with a deftness and a certainty her movements had begun to acquire only these past few weeks. Sometimes there was no room for doubt. Or hesitation.
