Harlequin had been out wandering the new town, but finally it came time to find a warm place to be for a while. Being made of wood, he didn't generate his own body heat, so the warm clothing, as thankful as he was for them, didn't do as much for him as he'd like.

He found himself in a restaurant of some kind and had just climbed his way to the cushioned top of a stool when a young man sat down on the stool next to his. Looking up, he offered a grin as he stripped the outer layers of his clothes so he could move a bit more comfortably. "Ah . . . h-hello. I'm not intruding, am I?" He'd readily move elsewhere, though he couldn't help but hope he didn't have to - it was a lot of work for puppet, after all.

I'll join you here, Quin, so you can remind Abe about flying. abeator August 14 2009, 00:57:19 UTC
Abe had gone to whatever place Souji had invited everyone off to, mostly because he wanted to try local dishes and partly because there was only so much he could do for their mission by flying around and thought it would be better to see if he could find information on the ground. That, and it was getting pretty damn cold in the ship. Walking around helped keep him active.

He made his way to the eatery with some difficulty, having gotten lost thrice before finding it. The pleasant ambiance of the place surprised him, though not as much as the familiar puppet with Souji. "Hey, Sou. Harlequin," he greeted as he approached them. "You're here with your crew?"

Harlequin turned at the familiar voice, face lighting up. "Abe! Hi! Eheh...here in Tulgim or here in Aiya?" Just...making sure before assumed for one and embarrassed himself answering the wrong question.

Souji perked up when first the tiny puppet-person, then Abe showed up. He smiled warmly at both of them, propping his chin in a hand.

"You're not intruding at all, especially if you're a friend of Abe's." He looked up at Abe, arching a brow. "Find anything?"

Ikkaku walked in and immediately peeled his jacket off. Finally somewhere that didn't require him to be holed up somewhere warm wrapped in layers and layers of clothes or, hell, freezing his nipples off 'cause so many layers of clothes seriously restricted movement. Not that he'd be fighting in this weather, but just in case. A guy could never be too careful.

Besides, it'd be good to get familiar with Tulgim (and know a place with good food). And maybe find a place to start accumulating a liquor stash.

He joined Souji at the stools and grinned. "Hey. There anything ta drink here?"

Okay, okay, Ikkaku had gone out to the Way with Yumichika, raided the kitchen for alcohol with Kara, but the man liked to drink. Barring that, there was always delicious-smelling food.

Souji looked up and grinned. He had drank here the moment he had turned 16 in celebration along with a few friends. Aiya's wasn't known for it booze, but it could pass. If anything, it was stronger then most, since it was rather 'old-school', and not watered down like many places these days.

"Sake, mostly. No beer. But what he has is enough to get you going."

At the thought he ordered some himself, even though Mir. Aiya gave him a disapproving look. Souji rolled his eyes and sighed. One of the issues with having your Uncle as a police officer in the area, everyone was in your business...

Ikkaku immediately ordered himself a small bottle of hot sake and a huge bowl of ramen. Everything smelled so. Damn. Good. And maybe if he had spent the last couple days stuffing himself rather than just drinking a lot, he wouldn't suddenly be as hungry. But the weather did nothing for his appetite, and the tended to be inactive under freezing cold conditions-- so. Less eating.

"Ya got great taste, kid."

He glanced at the-- old guy. And then back at Souji. "Heh. You from around here?"

Souji laughed, drinking his own drink carefully. "A lot of the places around here are really good. Warm hearty stuff to keep the miners going." Another sip, and he shrugged. "And yeah... I have family around here, so a lot of the people know me."

Wolfram peaked into the restaurant warily, having always been a picky eater. However the delicious smells of the food whirled around him and drew him inside, leading him to a stool. Once seated he peaked around, taking note of several familiar faces.

Souji recognized Wolfram, though he didn't know him well. The pilot gave him a tiny smile, trying to seem welcoming. This was a good chance to meet people, after all.

"Ever eaten at a place like this before?"

It took Wolfram a moment to realizing the question was addressed to him. He recognized the pilot, though he couldn't place his finger on a name.

He shook his head, "No, first time."

He nodded, picking up his chopsticks and gesturing with them. "best to get something small at first then. It's a lot more filling then it looks."

Aiya's was full of recognizable sights and smells, instantly reminding Naoto of home. Her hometown, that is, not the Shirogane Estate where she was raised. She had been away for so long, it was nice to visit something familiar for once.

Naoto didn't need to look at the menu - she knew the entire thing by heart by now - and placed her order before taking a seat on one of the stools. There was nothing like a good warm meal to warm you up on a cold day.

Kara moseyed on over sometime later, hands jammed into her pockets, cigarette perched on her lips, smile in place. She recognized Naoto as one of the people serving on the ship, although she had never spoken to the girl(?) before...

"Mind if I join ya?"

Ah, that was...Kara, wasn't it? One of the pilots. They worked on the same ship, yet never had the chance to talk and socialize until now. She gestured to one of the empty stools beside her.

"I don't mind at all."

"Cool."

Kara slid over and promptly stuck out her hand.

"Kara Thrace. You?"

While Meg could take cold if she had to, it wasn't something she liked. However, it was a chance to get away from the lingering scent of durians. Besides, if the post on the network was any indication, a fair few people from the ship would be gathering here.

So, pulling a rather stylish fur-lined coat on, she had set off for this Aiya's, finding it with little difficulty. Ducking inside out of the drizzle, she was glad to find the inside warm. Pulling her coat and gloves off and slinging them over her arm, her eyes roved around the small diner, looking for someone she could learn about today. Who would catch her eye...?

Souji hadn't even ordered his food yet, since every few moments someone else came in, and since he was the 'host', he wanted to greet each one face-to-face. When Meg came in he half stood, giving a tiny wave. He only knew her in passing, but there was no harm in being well mannered.

"Need a seat Megara?"

Harlequin saw another familiar face enter the eatery, one he remembered from a brief but pleasant - at least till the end - encounter a few weeks ago. It reminded him - had he offended her somehow?

Well, if so, he wanted to be sure to make it right. He stood on his stool and waved. "Miss Meg! Hello!"
