Ikkaku decided not to slam his door open because whoever was behind it had been polite enough to knock. He bumped the door open, wearing... entirely not enough, considering the weather. "The hell d'you-- oh."

It was. Someone. That guy. They had fought, and this guy had really liked his face or someth-- Yumichika. Who outranked him. If something was broken (especially something he had just fixed), Ikkaku was gonna be pissed.

"Need somethin'?"

"Hello Ikkaku, it's nice to see you as well. I'm glad you're doing alright. I'm fine too, thank you for asking." He smiled widely. "I owe you a drink. And get dressed, it's cold outside."

Somehow, Yumichika had managed to put on a large winter coat and still look thin all around.

Oh, right. Ikkaku shut the door to pull on his boots and grab a winter coat. It was short and pretty old; the last time he had worn it was a couple years ago; the last time he was in Tulgim, actually. At least it was still in pretty good condition. "Y'mean there's actually someplace to drink around here?"

Normally he would refuse to head out into the cold, but-- hell, for a drink?

"There is a bar on The Winding Way," Yumichika replied, as-a-matter-of-factly. "It is called the Gunsmoke Bar. I have only been there once, but the vodka is superb and the company is wonderful as well." He put on his hood so Ikkaku wouldn't have to witness Yumichika wrinkling his nose at the sight of his worn-out coat. It looked like it had been through one too many winters.

It was still a good coat. And had spent most of its time in his closet, thought that might not be such a great place for coats--

"Huh. They just let people onto their ship?" Ikkaku ducked around Yumichika and shut the door behind him, before he started down the hall towards the deck. He wasn't really planning to start any fights, but if they happened, he'd feel pretty bad if someone else's deck or bar got busted up.

"Well, hopefully they're open for business," Yumichika replied. "I don't think there's another bar around here, and they might not be so reputable." He continued to walk, enjoying the sound his boots were making on the floor. He pulled his gloves on tighter and clasped the neck of his hood when he walked out of the Fiertia.

"It's a minin' town, there's gotta be a bunch'a bars." Ikkaku pulled on his hood and pulled his collar up as he stepped outside. It was really fucking cold. He waited for Yumichika to lead the way-- he hadn't had time to check out the other ships during the races, and had no idea what the Winding Way or whatever looked like.

"You know where it is?"

"How many ships called The Winding Way could there be? We can just ask around." In fact, he went and found someone to inquire about the Way, and was immediately given directions. "See? I told you."

He walked them in the right direction. "Do you know anything about the man we're supposed to be looking for?"

"Hey? Looks good! Think it's still open?" Ikkaku grinned at him and kicked the snow off the bottoms of his boots before he headed in. It was pretty warm, at least, though it felt a little weird to not know anyone. "But you sure we're allowed here?"

"An'... I dunno. Griff... ith? Griffith somethin'. Haven't heard anyone say what he looks like. But I dunno if we oughta ask around."

"How are we supposed to be looking for him if no one knows what he looks like?"

Yumichika looked upward and saw The Way in the far distance. "Why wouldn't they let us on the ship? They have a bar. They're mostly kids. Why would they only have it open to their ship?"

"Beats me. I'm just here ta fix the ship, remember?" Ikkaku sped up a little, taking longer strides and stuffing his hands into his pockets. His legs were freezing, but he could deal with it. Sure.

"An' I dunno about you, but I'd be pretty weirded out if people just went in an' out'a my ship."

"Then you should never build a public bar on your ship." Yumichika's nose was turning red despite his best efforts to get his nose to stay the complexion it usually was, so he was in a hurry to get inside, as well.

"I've never seen a winter like this. It's beautiful, isn't it?"

Ikkaku blinked. That was a pretty random thing to say, especially since he was more concerned with his fingers and toes going numb than how pretty snow was. "Guess it's not bad. I like lakes an' stuff better."

Lakes and stuff didn't involve being really really cold, for one thing.

Lakes could be cold. Lakes had the potential of being cold. Some lakes weren't even beautiful, but everything after a fresh few layers of snow was. But he didn't think Ikkaku would understand, or care enough to understand.

"Is there one near your home?"

"Nah. Guess I like lakes 'cause there weren't any." Hell, he liked any big bodies of water. Water meant it was ice, or cold enough for ice to form. And while he normally didn't bother making smalltalk (it was pretty pointless most of the time) they were gonna be drinking together.

"You ever been here before?"

"No," he said. "I've never been out of my hometown until... Well, until The Fiertia." He walked on board The Way-- the bar looked functional, even out here-- and held the door open for Ikkaku. He did look cold.
