Falco couldn't sleep. And when he couldn't sleep, he went to the hangar, where he could busy himself checking up on his plane. It wasn't that the Sky Claw was due for a check up, but it was something for him to do until he actually did feel like turning in for the night.

Once he arrived at the hangar, Falco was surprised to find that it wasn't empty. It sounded like someone was there, and it seemed like they had the same idea as him: checking up on their plane.

"Someone in here?" he called out, already knowing the answer.

Sephiroth paused in his tightening of a bolt and looked over his shoulder. He couldn't see who was calling out and he had yet to meet everybody, so he didn't recognize the voice. "Yes, there is," He called back.

He guessed he wasn't the only one who liked to use the night to check on their planes.

That didn't sound like anyone Falco knew, and he knew most of the people on the ship pretty well. Must be a new guy then. Maybe the new pilot? Falco had heard there was a new one on board, but he had yet to meet them.

"Huh. Just checking," he shrugged before walking over to his plane. "You new?"

"I am," He answered and then sighed. "Lieutenant Commander Sephiroth. Yourself?"

Sephiroth would much rather be able to see who was talking, but whoever it was didn't come toward his place. He guessed he was going over to his own then, instead.

"Major Falco Lombardi," Falco answered, opening the hood of his plane. "Nice to meet you."

As far as meeting could go without seeing each other face to face, that is.

"Likewise," He said, still not leaving his spot quite yet. He grunted as he tightened the part he wanted as best he could before sighing and pulling the wrench from its place, sticking it back into his tool kit. He then began loosening and pulling off, one by one, various nuts and bolts that were rather dirty.

"How long have you been here?" Sephiroth asked conversationally.

"Been about a little over a year now," Falco replied. The engine of his plane was looking good, but it could be better. Grabbing some tools, he started to tinker with the engine a bit. "It's a little hard being on this ship sometimes, but hey, you get used to it."

"Oh? What were your difficulties?" Sephiroth had been on ships before, so he was having no trouble currently.

"Eh, working under the admiral is sometimes hard," Falco said, pausing from his work to look in the general direction Sephiroth's voice was coming from. "And a lot of it's just me. The military and I sometimes just aren't a good match, y'know?"

"So I've heard," Sephiroth replied, he jumped onto the hull of his plane, looking inside the cockpit, to adjust the controls. "And I know the feeling. However, I'm used to dealing with worse, I suppose. I've heard a lot about the admiral and while it really is an honor to be on this ship, it's also not something I really care for."

All he cared about was looking for his two friends, flying, and making sure his fellow comrades were safe on the battlefield.

"You and me are kinda alike then," Falco laughed. "I'm here mostly because I want to fly." Of course, when Falco first expressed that dream to someone - to James McCloud, the military was the best way to achieve that dream. Falco could leave someday, maybe join a mercenary ship, but as much as he didn't want to admit it, Falco was now attached to the Victoria II and its crazy crew of people.

"Isn't that the reason anyone wants to be a pilot?" Sephiroth asked, sliding into the cockpit and leaning against the side. His plane was actually built for two, the pilot and the navigator. But he never found a suitable navigator and while he could navigate well enough on his own... it made things easier.

He wanted to look for his friends, but it was hard to do that if he didn't even know where to start.

"Yeah, I guess," Falco conceded. The engine was looking pretty good, so he jumped down to give the rest of the Sky Claw a once over, wiping some dust off with his hand. To fly wasn't really that unique of a dream, now that Falco thought about it. But he doubted many people felt as strongly about it as he did. It's tough to live your life as a bird who can't fly. "What about you? You got any dreams or goals?"

Sephiroth leaned back in his seat, looking up. "Embrace your dreams..." He murmured.

'If you want to be a hero, you need have to dreams. And your honor.'

He sighed. "I did. I'm still looking."

Falco was silent for a moment, noticing the single word "did." He stopped to admire his plane, which, in his opinion, was looking pretty good.

"Hope you find it, then," he said.

"Hm," He smirked. "Thanks."

Sephiroth finally jumped out of the plane and walked over to Falco, not batting an eye at the appearance of the humanoid bird. "How is she faring?"
