Characters: Mukuro Rokudo
manipulater, Uni Giglio Nero
onlyluminousContent: Two healers discussing matters pertaining to the Fiertia over tea.
Setting: The infirmary of the Fiertia.
Time: Late afternoon to dusk, some time after the shopping trip but while Uni is still mostly preoccupied with certain business dealings.
Warnings: None, I think.
She hadn't wanted to do this. Not just yet. Spending time with the quartermaster had been, oddly enough, a help: like ice-cold water, a numbing shock. He was action and surface and energy, and that was what Uni wished she could focus on right now -- surfaces, nothing but the outward seemings of things, so that even though her world was falling apart around her she could still maintain an appearance of calm.
I'm sure, she could almost hear him saying, Uni-chan will find a way.
And she would, because that was how he had made her, but there had never been an assurance that she would not break in the finding. It didn't make the dread easier to bear, just necessary; Uni bit back a sigh as she entered the infirmary with the boxes of the herbs and other substances she'd bought, no longer bothering to hide her exhaustion.
The mask snapped back into place when she saw that she was not alone. Ah -- yes -- she had grown too used to the solitude of this place, the illusion (almost painful) that of all places in the world this was something over which she had some form of control. Control, how laughable and how false. Uni swallowed the bitterness of the thought, however, and set the boxes down on top of a long, low set of cabinets to bow politely to the man.
"Good afternoon," she said. "I'm Uni." You must be-- but no, she did not say it. "It is an honor to meet you."
