Ikkaku showed up ten minutes late. All things considered, he could have passed it off as getting his tools and stuff (which was true, but wouldn't take ten minutes) but he'd never admit to sort of getting lost. Sort of. But the ship wasn't so big that he'd be going in endless circles and by the time he'd stumbled into the hangar, it wasn't too hard to backtrack from there. Supplies. Right.
He'd seen the damage to the deck on his way down-- rails, floorboards, a bit of damage to the walls-- well. Ikkaku grabbed a box of nails, a big hammer and started sorting out planks and metal bars. They probably wouldn't need to do much cutting but he grabbed a saw anyway. It never hurt to be prepared, though he was sort of wondering why the shipwrights weren't working on the deck (probably because there weren't any)-- engines were more his thing.
He scooped up a bunch of planks and tucked them under his arm. Might as well get started bringing all the supplies up onto deck first. Then maybe head into town to stock up. And then finally get back to that fight he'd been promised. He was sort of hoping it'd be a quick job-- easy, probably, but it would probably also be tedious and boring and drag on and on...
Well, there really was no helping it. As long as they finished this up soon, they wouldn't need to bother with it again.
