At one of the nearby food stalls was a teenage boy, who seemed to be frantically trying to get the attention of the woman taking orders. Several people in the vicinity had turned their heads towards the raised voice, and a few people in the line for the said food stall were grumbling and scowling--presumably because they'd just been jostled by the kid's mad dash to the counter.
"Hey! Hey!"
When resolutely ignoring him didn't seem to work, the woman turned a sharp gaze on the youth and stated, "You want to order something, you move to the back of the line like everyone else."
Gripping the counter with his hands, Sora leaned forward over the space as if he intended to simply leap over. "No, I'm not--I was just here, I'm not trying to order anything else. I just need to know if you found a wallet, or if anyone turned one in to you just now!"

Let's see. The chicken and mushroom on skewers look good as well as the lamb chops being grilled in the stall next door and ooh, there was honey cakes! Then some cold beer to wash it all down. Zack could feel himself drooling already.
Just as he was about to start lining up up for the chicken skewers when he heard the Sora's question.
"Kid, hate to break it to you but you probably lost your wallet for good." He called out.

"You're sure?"
Now the woman was starting to get impatient. "I said I haven't seen one, kid. Now scram."
Sora pulled back from the stand, visibly deflated. He kicked his shoe against the dusty ground for a moment, before turning to leave. . .

He did feel sorry for the kid so he called again, "Kid, nobody's kind enough in a place like this to turn in a wallet if they found one, especially if the finder was a pickpocket."

"It's not 'kid'," He corrected. Why did everyone always call him that? Lacing his hands behind his head, he added, "It's Sora. And yeah, I knew it wasn't likely anyone would've turned it in. But, at least I tried."
A sigh. "There goes all my spending money until the play's over."

He eyed Sora once over, then added, "You're not gonna starve right?"

Sora eyed the other with an openly curious expression, taking in his attire. "Are you a mercenary?"
Reply
"Hmm? Me?" He laughed. "Yup, you could say that." He was a mercenary hired by the 4223 to be a pirate.
