Content: Just because there are races on doesn't mean that recent events have been forgotten.
Setting: On the outskirts of the temporary town that's sprung up.

One of the nice things about this event, as much as Katsura didn't really approve of the sort of waste it represented, was that it brought together all sorts of people, and that the Badlands were fairly neutral territory, so far as political discussion went--or had been, up until quite recently. With the bombing of Ivona's parliament and the death of the president, and the accusations placed on Falls' group as a result, people were talking. And talk was very informative, especially street-level gossip and smaller, organized discussions. There were no shortage of soap-boxes being dragged out, and the debates occurring were both heated and quite interesting. The one Katsura currently stood at the fringes of was no exception. It seemed, at least for the moment, that the main opinions were that either Falls had been involved, and that it was the first real step towards independence for the Badlands, or that Falls was not involved, and that it was a set-up by the Ivonians, who knew that blaming Vohemar directly would embroiled Ivona in a much larger conflict than they were prepared to deal with. Blaming the Badlands would give the country an excuse to secure and expand the military holdings it already possessed in the area.
Katsura found himself engrossed in the proceedings, nodding along occasionally, not particularly worried about being seen by any of his crewmates. After all, they were nominally at the races to keep tabs on any potential rebellious activity in the region. He was only doing his job, gathering whatever information he could.
