Maka wasn't terribly interested in watching the races, but there were other things she wouldn't mind doing in town while everyone was around. The more important business, though, was getting moved in and eventually meeting up with the rest of the ship's crew. She had a lot of books to put away, and she didn't quite remember her way around the ship.
She made her way belowdeck, school-related luggage in tow.
