Millie was wandering around the ship, Meg in a baby carrier on her back. She had just come from the Headquarters, and had a brand new list of claims to cover. Most of them were in the town the races would be held in, so it fit.

"You know, Meg, I think the Chief is giving me work that keeps me on the Victoria II for some reason," she mused.

Ah, and there was the insurance woman. To be frank, Edgeworth was surprised she managed to stay on board for so long. However, he couldn't complain too much; she had been quite polite and helpful during her stay on board. In some ways, she was almost better than the crew.

Besides, he did owe her his gratitude, at the very least. He nodded to her as they crossed paths, and stopped near her.

"Good afternoon, Ms. Thompson. I trust everything is going well for you?"

"Oh, yes. Poor Miss Dee looked absolutely terrified when I went to the kitchen, though," Millie replied. "Did you scare her or something?"

"I did?"

He did? Good. That was the least she deserved.

"I'll work everything out with her later," he said calmly. "Trust me. There's nothing for you to worry about."

"Yes, she seemed very worried that I was going to get eaten, or something," Millie explained. "But I think she was just exaggerating!"

Meg chittered in her sling. "Yes, yes, I know you're hungry. Would you care to join me for some tea, Commander?"

Edgeworth stared blankly at Millie's explanation, and had a vague idea of what Reynolds meant. He was less than pleased.

Her question snapped him out of his dour mood, though, and he blinked before he nodded softly.

"That sounds lovely," he said, "But I'm afraid I can only join you for a short bit."

Honestly, she had no idea what Dee meant. Surely Commander Edgeworth wasn't a cannibal?

"That's quite alright," Millie replied. "I asked one of the cabin boys to bring the tray to the visitor's lounge, and told him to make sure there was enough for five. I'm not expecting anyone, but it's always nice to plan ahead!"

"I mean no offense," he said, "But that seems like a bit ...much, Ms. Thompson. Do you usually drink with guests like this?"

Millie shook her head. "No, but people are always passing by, and I usually offer them some tea! Plus Meg drinks a lot for something so small." She wasn't quite sure tea was safe for a creature as young and odd as Meg, but if it kept her happy!

Well, he supposed he couldn't fault her for attempts at courtesy. Edgeworth was, however, surprised by what she had to say about "Meg". He didn't even know the thing could drink tea.

"Hmn. If she eats and drinks that much, perhaps she's due for a growth spurt. Has she gotten any larger since you adopted her?"

He decided it would be prudent to know. Edgeworth certainly didn't want some sort of giant egg monstrosity rolling around the ship.

"No, not really," Millie replied. "She's certainly gotten heavier, but..."

Meg looked up at her owner. "Togeprrrrrrrrrreeeeeeee!" She didn't sound happy.

"Well, if you stopped eating all of my sweets you wouldn't be so heavy, would you?" Millie started towards the lounge.

"...it might be prudent to offer her something besides sweets," he suggested. "Some fruits or vegetables, or perhaps some meat - and if she refuses, well, that's something a bit of discipline should fix."

With that said, he walked forward, and held the door to the lounge open for her.

Millie nodded her thanks. "I don't offer them, she just goes right up and takes them!" Millie explained. "She does eat fruit and some vegetables, but I can't get her to eat meat."

Meg chirped and started struggling in her sling.

He followed after her, and said, "In that case, you may desire a better hiding spot." He eyed Meg's stubby little legs, and added, "I'm sure she can't get too far up, after all."

"Oh, she's an amazing jumper," Millie explained. She sat down on the sofa and put Meg down. "Whatever she is, she's certainly got some strange abilities."

Edgeworth sat across from Millie, and watched her set the creature down.

"Strange abilities?" There was an obvious note of curiosity voice, and he gave another glance to Meg. "If you don't mind, may I ask what sort of abilities?"
