Thankfully (for the rest of the crew, at least) his metabolism meant that he was already largely sober by the time Hibari had pounded on his door and announced the impromptu meeting. His first instinct had been to ignore it, just stay in his room until they figured out what the hell was going on, but the part of him that was reluctantly pulled towards leadership recognized the wisdom in getting everyone together to discuss what had happened, especially now that the rest of the crew was beginning to catch on.
He didn't know what, if anything, he would really be able to do, but at the very least, he wanted to put in an appearance.
"Taking initiative, I see," he commented as he reached the pilot's quarters. It looked as if he were the first. "I suppose this is an easier way to discuss just how screwed we all are."

Hibari knew this first hand; he had already tried to call the man in, and received no response. The pilot made no move to offer Nik anything; he only continued smoking his cigarette.
"As to whether we are screwed or not may still be ours to decide."

"It will probably depend on how well our alibi holds." Nothing had leaked out yet, but he couldn't take that as encouraging, not when it seemed they had been set up.

Ikkaku, brandishing an irritated expression as he entered the room, clearly did not like the idea of being summoned. However, the very fact that he joined the others at all meant he was not so horribly antisocial that he was not willing to listen; it was a subtle indication, though, and unlikely that everyone would notice it.
Tucked into his belt was a practice sword, thick, smooth, and perfectly black. Carrying a real blade around, when tensions were so high among everyone, was immediately decided against with a respectful amount of foresight.
Ikkaku took a spot against the wall, his lean arms neatly folded across his chest. He didn't wear so much a scowl as it was a look of displeased uncertainty; nothing was worse than undertaking a non-combative mission, then finding out it ultimately ended in disaster just the same.

"Any developments on your end, Ikkaku?"

Nikolas arched an eyebrow slightly as Ikkaku entered, rather surprised the man had decided to show up. He didn't strike Nik as the type, to be honest. In the end, he settled for nodding slightly in his direction in acknowledgment of his arrival.

"Excuse me." He slipped inside quietly, looking around once. Based on the piece of conversation he'd arrived in time to hear, they seemed as much in the dark as he was.

"Che, this is way more complicated than it should be," he grumbled audibly. "It's pretty obvious that we just got set up."
As Kira arrived, Ikkaku's eyes flew towards him. Recognition wasn't immediate, but once it happened, Ikkaku realized just who he was. "You, you're Ichimaru's little student, eh?"
Reply
"I intend to find who did this and dismantle him. I hope the feeling is mutual."
A pause.
"Has something like this happened on the ship before?"

Though the mention of Ichimaru didn't please Nik in the slightest (he couldn't trust the man--he reminded Nik far too much of someone he'd rather forget) he made no indication of it, aside from making a mental note to keep an eye on Kira as well, if what Ikakku said was true.
"Very mutual." Nik would cave their face in personally, if given the chance. "I hate being used."

"I do not know the Captain as well as the rest of you, so I won't cast aspersions on his character. Knowing your opinions is enough. Likewise, I feel the person responsible for this should not go unpunished." He looked around the room slowly, taking note of those who were present - and those who weren't.
"If each of us can vouch that our respective groups did not tamper with the equipment we planted, and we exclude Captain Rowe from the list of suspects, then the blame surely lies with our supplier."
