Soubi actually wasn't all that interested in a group date.

But there was dreadfully little to do on the Victoria with other people. Most people on the ship were either no fun or always busy doing things. This sounded like a perfect opportunity to mingle with his fellow crew mates more.

Though, Soubi honestly wondered how many ladies would be attending this gathering.

Entering the office slightly late, he looked around, taking note of the decorations.

"My, it looks lovely in here."

Huhu. Shall we eventually recognize each other from this-or-that mage meet? XD

"Glad you approve."

Roy approached the newcomer with a smile, as he was wont to do with everyone who had come over/been dragged over/wandered in.

"You're lucky. Some of the lady crew members just came around."

Eventually, yes. :>

"Very lucky indeed, then," Soubi smiled. This must be the one who orchestrated the entire thing. And indeed! He did manage to rope a few women into attending. Perhaps this would go well after all. "I hope everyone has a good time."

Huhu!

"I'm pretty sure they will. A little booze loosens everyone up."

That, and excellent food, which Roy had also made sure to secure. He had truly pulled out all the stops for this one.

"Oh, and in case you haven't heard, I'm Roy Mustang. I think we've exchanged pleasantries over the network before...?"

Roy Mustang. That name sounded familiar, but Soubi couldn't quite place where he heard it before. If he didn't figure this out soon, it was going to keep bothering him until he did.

"Agatsuma Soubi," he replied. "And yes, we did speak over the network."

...Where had he heard that name before? Roy's brow furrowed for just a moment as he tried to figure out why it caught his attention. In the meantime though...

"Good of us to meet in person at something like this then! Hungry?"

Roy's name was still bugging him, but it was something Soubi could mull about later. It would be awkward to ask if they had met before. Especially if the answer was no.

"It's good to meet you too," Soubi said. "I am actually a little hungry. You don't mind if I help myself, do you?"

"Certainly not. In fact, let me go with you... I'm looking for another drink myself."

Roy, on the other hand, was not held back by any possible awkwardness, especially when he really wanted to know the truth behind something.

"Say: which academy did you study in?"

What academy?

"That would be the Sepital Moon academy," Soubi answered. He doubted Roy also went there, but it wouldn't be unheard of if the other man knew of it. It was really a one of a kind school.

"Ah..."

Roy trailed off, thinking back to his own Academy days.

"I think us state alchemists from the main school had a meet up with you guys once. Back before we were state alchemists, anyway."

A state alchemist! Now it was starting to come back to Soubi.

"I believe I attended that meet up," Soubi said. "I think we met once there."

"Did we--"

A pause, a series of blinks, and then, reocgnition.

"Yeah! NOW I remember. Long time, no see!"

Strange, them meeting again like that.
