Content: It's Hijikata's 30th birthday, which is the perfect time for the 4423's crew to engage in their ship pastime of harassing him until he starts throwing things!
Setting: Anywhere on the 4423
Time: Early afternoon of May 5th (so backdated about a week)
Warnings: Grumpiness, cursing, smoking, pirates, silliness...the usual, really!
Hijikata didn't like birthdays.
He didn't like most days, honestly, but there was a special dislike he kept in reserve for the fifth of May. It was the day when his cousin had been forced from their family, the day that insisted on reminding him he was getting older (still in the prime of life, dammit, but older), and perhaps most of all, the day when no matter how he tried, he could never get any damned peace and quiet.
Not that that would stop him from trying. Even though some acquaintance of his cousin's seemed to have shouted their birthday all over the network, surely most of the ship didn't even know it was his birthday!
At least, he hoped not.
Just in case, though, he had decided to avoid the crew as much as possible. Only one day, and he'd be free of the "birthday" nonsense for another year...
He could handle a day.
