Solare. It had been quite a while since he had been here - about thirty or so years actually, to be precise. But as much as time had passed, it hadn't done much to improve the condition that Solare was in even back from all those years ago. If anything, it had only gotten a lot more worse from those times.

I suppose things aren't meant to last forever, Isshin mused to himself as he watched the fiery skies, hearing loud squawks as a pair of crows flew by. His gaze followed them until they disappeared into the fiery light of the sun and then he turned to notice the figure of one rather familiar teenager walking down the streets nearby. Wasn't it that nice Raidou kid?

Interested to see what the younger crew member was doing, the doctor started to walk up towards him and greeting aloud as he neared the other. "Raidou-kun! What are you doing out here?"

If he had been anyone else, he might have jumped out of his skin at that moment. He had been heading for a particular corner on the next intersection of streets, peering at the ghost who apparently refused to extricate herself from the spot where she had died in a cycling accident.

Raidou stood up, schooled his expression as well as he could, and turned to face the speaker. He recognized the man immediately, and bowed.

"Good day, Iishin-san. I was hoping to get some fresh air."

Isshin noticed the ghost too, and for a moment he flicked his eyes towards it and frowned slightly. Looks like there was some work to do after all - not that he was obligated or anything, but he always liked to help anyone, be it alive or dead.

He looked back towards Raidou soon enough, laughing a bit at his greeting (he was really polite for a kid, the man mused with some amusement) "The air in Solare isn't the best, but its certainly better than what you have in Abantaire," he remarked with a chuckle before looking slightly serious. "Don't try to go off too far; this place isn't the safest, after all."

He knew that fact pretty well, having lived here once in his youth.

"I won't."

But he had not missed where Iishin had looked, nor the way his expression had changed just for a moment.

"...You can see her too, can't you, sir?"

Aha. Whoops. Looks like he'd been discovered.

Isshin laughed lightly at that once again, a slightly sheepish look on his face. "Ahaha... yes, I can actually. But a lot of people can do that as well, right?" he smiled good-naturedly and shrugged - even if Raidou knew about this now, he wasn't going to tell about the abilities he possessed to anyone any time soon.

The feeling, unknown to both of them, was mutual.

"More than one would normally expect." Raidou smiled. "I was going to dismiss her, unless you wish to do the honors?"

The doctor shook his head at the inquiry, smile still on his face. "You go ahead and do it. I'm afraid I've been rather out of touch with that sort of business."

Well, not as much as one might think really. There was a reason why he was a doctor after all, besides it having been one of his own dreams.

"All right, sir."

Raidou turned away, heading for the corner. The conversation between him and ghost was brief but effective - she left almost immediately, without him even having to do anything remotely spell-related.

Good thing, too, because he would much rather not reveal what else he was capable of to other people. With that, he returned to Iishin and bowed once more.

"Am I needed back at the ship?"

Isshin watched as Raidou did his thing, feeling somewhat impressed - the kid had patience, at the very least. In his younger days he would have been more tempted to simply do one of the usual things and sent it off. The man had been rather... flashy when he was younger, if he had to admit it. He smiled again as the younger crew member returned to him, and looking somewhat exasperated when he bowed - really, there wasn't any real need to do something as formal as that.

"Ah, not really," he responded, "We're pretty much done for the day. I was just walking around when I noticed you." Which was pretty much the truth.

"All right."

A delicate pause, and then another bow, one lower than the other.

"If you would be kind enough to not say a word of this incident to anyone, sir, I will forever be in your debt."

The more he looked like an average strategist, the better.

Really, did Raidou have to bow like that? It was somewhat endearing, but well... Isshin wasn't very used to treatment as such.

The doctor chuckled at that, nodding at the request. "Of course, Raidou-kun; and if you don't mind, I'd like for you to do the same for me." He really wasn't so particular about if people knew about his ability to see ghosts, but it could lead to some speculations - and with questionable faces like a certain radio ops on this ship, it was for the best if he kept this ability secret.

"Thank you, sir. I will."

Another smile - one more genuine that time around.

"Have you managed to converse with the members of the other ship that is docked here?"

Isshin perked up a little at that, blinking a bit before he realized what the other had meant - the Victoria II was here too, wasn't it? He had heard more than enough stories about that ship, having lived in Melior pretty much since that ship had come into existence, more or less.

He shook his head again in response. "No, I haven't. Though I suppose I'll have to rectify that soon." The man laughed a little, scratching his head. He did want to meet some of the colourful characters that he heard about, at least once.

"I see..."

Raidou, on the other hand, was not particularly eager to deal with other people unless it was required of him. He was not very good in social situations.

Isshin suddenly perked up a little at that, grinning as he looked at Raidou with and then remarked with a laugh. "You should do it too, you know! Talking with other people, I mean." He had noticed that Raidou really didn't do that communicating thing a lot, after all.

Raidou immediately blushed and averted his gaze.

"I am... not well-versed in conversation, sir."

Much less relating with anyone.
