Of course. Something like that would turn anyone off. Luckily the most Zhang He had to deal with was being partially ostracized from the first person he'd worked under in the military. Though Mengde had helped him tolerate that... enough of those thoughts Zhang He. He forced himself to get a hold of it and smiled.

"We may both get in trouble for a fight, be it our fault or not. Of course Tear wouldn't be pleased with either of us after it."

Luppi nodded. He didn't want to get into a dispute over anything, but it didn't stop him fingering the bound hilt of Trepadora, just to remind himself that he had her with him. It was only a little sword, barely big enough to be classed as a Wakizashi, even, but having her there made him feel safer, all the same.

"Yeah, I think Tear'd be pretty annoyed if we beat up the people we're supposed to be helping~." He couldn't hold back the devious little grin.

Zhang He had the unfortunate luck of forgetting his claws back on the ship, though it was probably for the best. After all they were rather heavy and a pain to carry around, not to mention a bit more suspicious than a sword at that. Oddly enough this was... fun.

"I'd imagine so~." With that he spotted a... pretty normal looking place actually. "How about there?"

Luppi looked over to where Zhang He had seen the place and raised his eyebrows. Well, it didn't look so bad.

"That looks fine~!" He said, starting towards it.

Well, it could certainly be worse.

It could have been and certainly as they entered the place this became debatable. Normal on the outside and horrible inside. Though Zhang He himself was quite picky on decor (the Silvana was proof enough of that). The walk in led him to doubt the food as well, less that middle class people walking in. Perhaps his decision was not the best but... it would be a place to eat?

Luppi looked around.

Well, it wasn't exactly five star, but it would do. The people inside didn't look as affected by the relative poverty of the region as some of the people outside in the slums, but they still obviously weren't cheerful about their situations. Upon seeing the place, Luppi decided that he may have to forgo the food, but he still sort of wanted a nice cup of tea.

It being a self seating place Zhang He chose an area relatively closed off, just in case. Being taunted was the last thing he needed, either of them needed right now probably. Though that was already decided outside. When the server came by he surprisingly smiled and ordered some tea and a small salad for himself. No need not to eat anything after all. Now it was just waiting for Luppi to order, then they could talk a bit more.

Luppi settled on a cup of tea, but decided to wait for his usual meal back at the Silvana. Eating in public could be very awkward when you had long sleeves that tend to hang and drag and generally Get In The Way.

He smiled brightly at the server and then looked to Zhang He, rather glad that the flamboyant Quartermaster had decided to come on the little excursion with him.

"This was fun~. Honestly I haven't had this much fun since the last town with Mengde." Surely it would be safe to tell Luppi he was friends with someone on an opposite ship. He hoped at least. Zhang He really did trust Luppi after all, they were like friends and he saw no reason not to really.

"It was~. Who's Mengde?" Luppi asked, tilting his head to one side.

Luppi had his own dodgy dealings, but they were mostly with members of the Silvana and even then, they were very secret. He wasn't exactly very morally sound, so he didn't have a problem with Zhang He having a certain alliance with a man on another ship, especially since he himself was rather close to Gin and worked under Aizen Sousuke. It didn't bother him at all.

Though, it would help if he had any idea who he was. He was one for keeping up with current events, but some he left slide... especially those on other ships, so the mention of that name didn't mean much to him. Sure, he was far cannier than a lot of people took him for, but some things lay beyond his realm of interest or any relevance to anything that may concern him.

"Mengde... He's the reason I'm still beautiful~. When I was in the military he was the one person who looks beyond the way I act and look~." There is a fondness there, and obvious fondness at that. "I believe he's also a strategist on the Victoria II."

Zhang He remained nearly completely oblivious to anything wrong on the Silvana as it was. Even as a quartermaster it wasn't as if he knew much, or was told much at this. it might have been due to the fact he was still relatively new to the ship.

Luppi listened and nodded. Interesting. He knew that The Silvana was on better terms with The Victoria II than it was with say... The 4423, but he had a feeling that relations were slightly strained, due mostly to the rather volatile personality of the captain of the other ship. For the Quartermaster of one ship to be such good friend with the Strategist of the other was... unusual, to say the least.

Still, if it didn't jeopardize any of Gin's plans, Luppi was more than happy to ignore it. It had nothing to do with him, after all, and he was simply one of Gin's little minions, almost on loan from Aizen.

"Ohhh~. Are you two...?" He trailed off, making a vague hand movement and giving him a pointed look. It was easy to guess what he meant, at least.

"Are we... ... Oh!" He flustered slightly, their tea and his own salad coming just in time to him to down half the hot liquid. Well. If that didn't give away his feelings nothing else did. "No! No! Goodness no. We're just good friends! Mengde is... he's not... I'm pretty sure he isn't like me at all!" Though this thought made his face drop a little.

"He does like to flirt but that's just the way Mengde is, you see? He has no interest in me like that at all!" One might like to note Zhang He didn't deny himself at all that he liked the other that way.

Luppi looked at him, covering his mouth with a sleeved hand to hide his grin and almost-laugh. Well well well. He had no doubt that Zhang He was a little bit on the gay side, to put it lightly, but for him to get this flustered over his friend? It was cute, even to an mean little git like Luppi.

"Awww...unrequited love is always the most tragic." He said, in a tone which managed to avoid being mocking at all.

It was a little sad, really. Zhang He obviously had very strong feelings for this man, and they weren't returned at all. Luppi would hate to be in that position with a love interest, after all.

He nodded and ate his salad slowly, with a slightly pleased noise. At least it was fresh vegetables! Perhaps someone from here had gotten a little of the supplies. It would make sense if people lived here, or upstairs for that matter.

"It's nothing I'm unused to~." It was true. Not many people shared his views after all, especially not in the military. Once would think out of it he'd lack these issues, but no luck there at all.

"This salad is pleasantly delicious~."

Luppi added sugar to his tea and frowned a little at what Zhang He said. It was sad and it made him feel bad for him. He'd never been in the position, himself. Romance wasn't exactly on his mind, so he hadn't felt the sting of liking somebody and not having his feelings returned.

"Is it? It doesn't look so bad~." He commented, looking at his food.

He sipped his tea and smiled. "The tea is nice, too."
