Content: Now that the Gunning of the Rose has finished showing, it's time to party!
Setting: The top deck
Time: Early evening

They had every reason to kick back and relax now that the work was over with. )
"I thought I'd get something for the party that wasn't alcohol, but..." He shook his head, pulling the lid free. "There was only one place still open, and even then, they only let me in because I was willing to buy what they were going to throw away."
Nodding his head once in Vash's direction, he continued, "I did manage to get a few donuts, if you want to get them before they're gone."
Inside of the box were various pastries and cookies, all left over from the end of the bakery's busy day.

And then he was being given the donuts, an act that brought tears to his eyes. He didn't hide the donuts, no. He grabbed them and started chowing down. There wasn't any time to stop and enjoy it, if he didn't want them snatched out of his hands!
Vash had them swallowed down in about ten seconds flat, wiping both his mouth and his eyes afterwards. He was still tearing up. "Those were really good! Thank you!"

She turned to Riku. "Want anything?" She nodded towards the drinks.

He took a couple of steps across the deck, stretching.
"Besides," he replied in a light tone, "It wouldn't look good if I was drinking before everyone else got here."

He gave them both a watery smile, then, wiping away more tears. "You're such good kids, both of you!" He even sounded choked up. Bringing him donuts so suddenly like that... it was such a nice gesture!

"We're the ones who got some of the stuff," she pointed out. "We're entiled to a drink or two before everyone else gets here!"

Looking back at Rikku, his smile turned coy. "Are expecting to see me drunk tonight?"

Shaking away his last statement, he replied, "I don't know about 'cute', but I've been told I'm 'fun'".

"That had to stink," she commented. "Most ships wouldn't let a sixteen-year-old near alcohol." As she tended to do during idle conversation, Rikku pulled off the beads keeping a braid intact and started unweaving it.
