Toshirou found a suitable spot on deck and laid out the watermelon he'd sliced in the kitchen before making his way up to the deck. He hoped Hinamori would join him, if not it would take him a lot longer to finish the watermelon. Munching on a slice of melon, he adjusted his Zanpakuto into a more comfortable position as he sat down. He'd gone off on his own while they'd had shore leave and taken care some business, chief among those had been finding some abandoned building or other that no one would miss and talking with his Zanpakuto.
It had taken longer than he'd thought, but in the end, they'd come to an agreement and now his sword was whole again, even if his heart wasn't.
