Marluxia gave his companion a brief glance before training his eyes back on the ship before them.

It wasn't a bad looking vessel and it's bad reputation preceded it. As such, it was perfect. He knew that she didn't agree, but that was just unfortunate. Needs must and, when the needs entail being on a ship full of pirates, then that is what they must do. He couldn't think of a better plan and, quite frankly, he didn't need to. They'd missed the ship when it first landed, so he was determined to get onto it before it took off again. Lucky second chances don't come along often.

"Yes," he said simply, not looking at her again when he spoke. "It isn't exactly ideal, but at present I would consider it our best option."

Larxene scowled at the answer. She went along with what Marluxia said because he was smarter than her, and better at forward planning, but that didn't mean she liked it. "Like the last plan?" She spoke with a tilt of her head, and green eyes on Marluxia, with a sweet little smile to accompany it, but it slipped away as soon as the words had, and she bent down to pick up her bag again.

"I hope I won't have to share a room with anyone," she said, looking at Marluxia again with more deliberate intent this time; she'll be damned if she was sharing room space with his plants, at least. Her tone took on a playful lilt, "It's awkward if I can't conveniently make them disappear."

Marluxia gave her a look. He didn't much want to share a room with her, either. She'd touch his precious plants and he'd have to get irritated and snippy about it. He didn't care about much, but his plants were something that he was fiercely protective about and allowing his nutty lightning-loving friend near them didn't make him feel very comfortable.

"Hopefully we'll be assigned separate accommodation. It's certainly a big enough ship." He offered, hoping.

He lived in hope of getting a high up position anyway, so sharing a room with whatever Larxene ended up as probably wasn't on the cards for him.

Larxene hoped so. It looked big enough on the outside, but that didn't mean anything. At least not where accommodation might be concerned. "You just want your own little greenhouse-" she started, her tone teasing, but she was cut off by the call of another voice, and then someone jumping down from the ship.

Honestly, Larxene was hoping to see them brain themselves on the floor.

Penelo was bustling around the deck, getting refills on hangover cures, what potion ingredients she could find (stupid gold chocobo feathers being so rare and expensive), and replenishing soaps and shampoos. Her hair was wet and tied back in a ponytail--she hadn't had time to braid it after her shower.

Down on the dock, she spotted two people--a blonde woman and...did the other woman have pink hair? "Hello! Can I help you?"

The intruding voice caught Larxene's attention, and she turned towards it with the dangerous slowness of a big cat sighting prey. Young, blonde, helpful, oh this would be so easy.

"Oh, how sweet of you to ask!" False sincerity dripped from every word, and Larxene looked to Marluxia, sharing a quick, communicative look. Although he'd probably prevent her from playing, at least until they're actually on the ship, taking a note of who there was to play with couldn't cause any harm. Right?

Marluxia looked up at Penelo, choosing not to speak. He decided to let Larxene handle this one, after dealing with the Jäger dropping in not so long before.

He did, however, give his companion a warning glance, a look that wordlessly warned her against doing or saying anything that could get them into trouble, or refused entry to the ship.

They could do without that setback.

"Are you trying to sign on?" Penelo asked, squinting. "If you are, we could use the help!"

Penelo couldn't tell if the blonde was being sarcastic or sincere. And the brunette--pink haired woman was just looking at her. How strange.

Jenka was sitting on the ship's railing, her back towards the docks, and definitely too far away to hear anything the newcomers were saying. If she was human, that is.

She was not human, and her Jäger hearing easily picked up their conversation. Perhaps it would have been a better idea not to let them know of her abilities, but Jenka usually preferred fun to advantage even in battle - she certainly wasn't going to pass up an opportunity for some entertainment today. Bydan was boring. Besides, the woman's comment was far more timely than she knew. "Actually, all ov us shovered right after docking!" she commented with an amused smile. The smile showed far more teeth than anyone should have, and the disturbing effect was significantly amplified by the fact that she had just jumped the 40 feet down to the docks, landing easily right in front of the two ( ... )

Marluxia was startled by the sudden appearance of the Jäger and couldn't quite bite back the instinct to summon his scythe. A flurry of petals later and he was there, fully armed. He watched her carefully with those cold eyes of his and didn't seem bothered at all by the fact that he was standing in a port holding a rather ridiculous looking blade.

Well, a large pink scythe wasn't the most subtle of weapon choices.

"You're a member of the crew." He stated, his eyes narrowing slightly. It wasn't a question, but it wore the guise of one. Interesting.

He'd heard of Jägermonsters, since he was rather well read, but he had never seen one in person. He couldn't deny being surprised by this one's dropping in, but he was interested as well. If the 4423 accepted crewmembers of that nature, somebody with his history wouldn't have trouble and neither should Larxene. Still, she had made some comments of a slightly aggressive nature towards his companion, so he was, for the moment, on his guard.

Larxene didn't go in for anything as flashy as summoning weapons. Hers, she simply kept on her, and unlike Marluxia she didn't draw them yet.

Marluxia's choice in weaponry could be so embarrassing.

There were other things to concern herself with, however. Like the fact that she'd just been accused of being scared by this complete stranger. Sparks arced between her splayed fingertips, crackling before she closed her fist and stopped it. It was always an easy sign that her temper had been poked.

"I don't get scared," she replied, looking at this intruder on their conversation. She'd tensed with indignation, ready to fight, but somehow the presence of Marluxia acted like a barrier.

Of course, all that meant was that she wasn't flying into a fight yet. Somebody was owed a lot of pain for the suggestion that she was scared, although it didn't necessarily have to be the person who'd accused her of it. Not if Marluxia said no.

Holy Heterodyne, what was that?? After a few heartbeats of just staring at the man's suddenly visible weapon with a shocked expression on her face, the Jäger burst out laughing. It took her a while to stop long enough to answer his question - or statement - "Yez. Und vho iz hyu??" She couldn't help laughing again. The man was just so... incongruous!

She spared some of her amusement for the woman. One of the easily-insulted ones, hmm? That should be fun. She raised an eyebrow with clear interest at electricity in her hands - that would make it really fun. Especially since she, unlike her friend Dimo, hadn't managed to get struck by lightning during the recent storm.

Dimo noticed the two unfamiliar people standing at the gangplank of the 4423, and decided to have a bit of fun with them. As silently as someone who'd had decades of experience as a scout could, he crept up behind the individual with the outlandishly colored scythe, grinning to himself. He knew that Jenka could see him from where she was, and that she wouldn't give him away.

He muttered, very close to the person's ear, "Vhat a pretty scythe. Hyu get it to match hyu hair, sveethot?"

[ooc: Just to check, Dimo is coming up behind them while Jenka is still present with the group, right? Just making sure, since they boarded the 4423 after meeting with Jenka (thanks to Penelo), so I assume it's going on at the same time as Larxene is talking to her?]

Marluxia narrowed his eyes when he heard the voice behind him. Hm. Well, somebody thought he was being funny and, judging by the accent, it was another one of those blasted Jägermonsters. Was the crew comprised entirely of the things?

"Pink or not, it's got a very keen edge." He said succinctly, deciding against dismissing it just yet.

With Larxene occupied by the female Jäger and this new one addressing him, it was adequate to say that he wasn't going to stand around unarmed, just in case.

(ooc: Yep, sounds good to me. Should this thread just be between Marluxia and Dimo, then?)

A half-step to the side, and Dimo could look the owner of the amusing weapon more or less face-to-face. It looked to be well-made, but, well...it was still a far rosier hue than most weapons that he'd seen. Ever. Cocking his head to the side, Dimo looked the blade over as he answered.

"Dot it does. Means hyu eidder takes very goot care of it after each battle, or," he added, grinned from ear to pointed ear, "hyu doezn't use it much, und iz just for show. Hyu izn't planning on testing it out here, iz hyu?"

(ooc: I think so. If they cross over as the Jägers move on, Jenka and Larxene are free to jump into this one. =3)

Marluxia cocked an eyebrow, but otherwise looked completely unfazed. He studied the olive face of the man to the side of him without showing fear, despite the disturbing set of teeth that were on show. Well, when you were in his line of work, being afraid of people got you nowhere.

"It is always prudent to keep the tools of one's trade in good condition," he told him, making it as clear as possible that it was not just for show. Sure, it was a ridiculous item, but it was still a blade and he could still use it very skillfully. "I don't, however, plan to use it here unless I am given reason to."

He raised his head a fraction and looked down at the man, not looking as unsettled as he really should. If he intends to join the crew that he belongs to, he couldn't go around looking scared, right? That, and he'd already been faced with one Jäger already. The fact that Dimo didn't drop out of the sky was a small mercy after
