Though then again, this really wasn't any better off, especially after when Kensei saw the rather huge thunderstorm they were going to dive into. Sometimes, the Vaizard couldn't help but wonder just what exactly was he getting himself into when he signed up onto the 4423 - minus the fact that he was staying here only because Shinji and Hiyori was. The crew was alright (even if a little questionable at times), the captain was fine (even if she was as small as Hiyori, perhaps even younger even) and generally things were good, even after the whole incident with Doma.
So why were they doing this again?
Not a question I can answer, I suppose, Kensei mused to himself as he lugged out the net along with Anko and Maxim, setting it down. He really didn't have much qualms with getting about in the rubber outfit - it looked stupid, yes, but at least it ensured that he wasn't going to get fried like barbecued rappig anytime soon.

If it weren't for the stupid poncho Maxim would have been entirely enjoying himself. He loved storms and the sheer thrill of this job gave him the kind of adrenaline rush that brought about the savage beast inside of him. Maxim helped Anko and Kensei hold the net in place. Even with only one hand he had no trouble fighting the winds. All they had to do now was wait for some lightning.
It wasn't until his poncho flew up and hit him in the face that Maxim absolutely HAD IT with that thing. Holding the net down with his foot he started tugging off the poncho and then threw it to the ground.
He gave it a glare. "Gott demned thing."

So exciting! She hadn't run into a proper storm in years, and here they were, flying into one. Especially with the danger, she just couldn't keep the excited, slightly mad grin off of her face.
"You're gonna get barbecued," she called cheerfully to Maxim. As soon as the rain started, it should keep down the gear some. Also make the ropes and net harder to deal with, but that was life.
She shot a look at the both of them, glowering Kensei, and ticked-looking Maxim. "We ready to go, boys?"

He glanced back at Anko when she directed that question towards them, face set in a neutral, somewhat serious look as he replied. "Its not like anything's going to change it I said no," the Vaizard replied as he held on tightly to his portion of the net while the winds blew stronger. This was going to be one heck of a wild ride, the man could tell.
[OOC: Posting order up and running~ Kensei > Maxim > Anko, with NPC interruptions when we have them. |Dd]

At Anko's comment Maxim threw her a wide grin. "Charred to a crisp, dollink!" In all honesty, Maxim was almost hoping he'd get struck by lightning, just out of curiosity. It was something he'd never experienced before and at this point in his long life he was running out of new and exciting things to try. And after all the things that had happened to him that should have killed him it was doubtful that a little lightning would finally do the trick.
This really was a Jäger's idea of "a good time". He already flirted with everyone else, why not flirt with death while he was at it?

Her words were playful, but with the wind coming up, she was having to begin to shout to be heard.
As the first splashes of rain hit her face, blown in on a stronger gust of wind, Anko stuck her tongue out to try and catch a few drops--and for the fun of it. A loud crack of thunder got her to slowly retract said tongue, licking her lips at the fact the storm was getting closer. And thus, the fun.

Dark grey thunderclouds rolled around them, lightning flashing dangerously close to them as thunder roared its disbelief of humans being so daring to face off nature itself. The man bit on his lower lip, wincing at the flashing lightning that seared his eyelids (he had somewhat sensitive eyes as a demihuman) before shouting out to the other two. "Alright, make sure to keep a look out for what we need to get! Discharges or the like!"

Several more bolts of light shot down from the sky a ways off. Maxim shot Kensei a smirk. "Hy doesn't tink ve iz gonna heff to look so hard."

"But we're not gonna catch much like this!" Anko frowned, sizing up the storm clouds with a glare, buffeted by the wind and rain. "Can we get the net out further that way?" She shouted to the other two, pointing more to the right, where a particularly heavy-looking front grumbled with its internal lightning--lightning they wanted.

He pointedly ignored Maxim's comment (this was no time to be a smartass, damnit) and turned his attention to Anko instead, glancing towards the general direction she was pointing. Indeed, the storms were pretty raging there. And they had to get as much as they could anyway. "Looks fine to me - provided we don't get stuck by lightning," he shouted back in return, wincing a little as a raindrop landed in his eye. Damnit.

Anko prided herself on her sense of balance, a necessary skill in her line of work. But add a rain-and-wind-storm, a slick deck, and the fact that the ship under her was also moving through the sky, and even she was knocked to one knee while struggling with the net against the wind.
"Fuck," she swore, remembering not to use the net's moorings for support as she tried to get back on her feet and the net back in her hands. Of course, no one could hear it over the wind.

"You alright there?" he shouted across the howilng winds and raging storm, though his voice was only barely audible above the chaos. The lighting continued to strike nearby, bright lights flashing and cutting silhouettes with every strike.

He waited until she was back on her feet before continuing to inch towards the other side of the deck. Over the howling wind he shouted to his crewmates. "Hy tink ve iz gonna be right in de middle of all de action over here zo--" before Maxim could finish his sentence a bright, searing flash of light leaped down from straight above them and struck the net, currents jolting through the wire. Maxim could feel the heat even through his rubber gloves.
Before he could even react the flash was gone and the net was smoking from the contact. Maxim had one arm over his eyes, crouching slightly. "Gott demn, dot scmotts!" Slowly lowering his arm he blinked his eyes a few times and grinned wide at the others. "Dis iz crazy! Ve should do it more often!"

Though she was smaller than the both of them, she could still hold her own. But, as the saying went, even monkeys fell from trees; Didn't mean they weren't, on occasion, kind of embarrassed by it. Besides, that knee would fucking hurt in the morning, the way it felt now...
The next bolt hit the net right after she'd gotten her balance back completely, rattling everything up to her teeth, and leaving more streaky light trails in her vision--but she was still upright and holding down the net with gritted teeth. "Long as we don't move, we'll be fine!"
Reply
"We'd better hold it well then," the silver-haired man replied, brows furrowing. The way the bolts were hitting, they also had to be careful unless they wanted to get struck by the lightning themselves.
