Kensei's face was blank as he entered the room. He had seen Shinji picked up a while ago, amongst others from the other cells. He was the first to be picked up from his cell, though he suspected that the others would follow pretty soon. He only spared a moment to glance to the door before he was not-so-kindly shoved forward and the Vaizard gave out a grunt as he went up and settled himself as nicely as possible onto his seat.

He could only trust Shinji to ensure that their real identities weren't going to be leaked anytime soon. Just like him, Kensei knew he was most likely considered dead in this nation. The conflicts of Bydan so many years ago were so messed up, nobody would have ever guessed that someone would just... slip away. The silver-haired man stared at the false documents that laid on the table before him. They were well made, to be sure - they risked their lives for those papers when they first started, but it had gotten them out of situations more than once. He could only hope that could stand up to the inquisitor's ( ... )

The investigator looked careful through the papers, but fortunately enough, it seemed like he wasn't analyze every single bit of what was presented for him.

This spelled out well for Kensei; at the very least, for now.

"You weren't treated too poorly, I hope? We did have one complaint so far."

The silver-haired man snorted (clearly unamused by the question) at that as he leaned back on his chair, still staring at the man in front of him as he spoke. "If I say no, will you let me go?" it was more of a rhetorical question rather than anything else, and the man already knew what the answer was.

As he waited from the coming response, Kensei crossed his arms over his chest and one leg on top of the other, the expression on his face still neutral.

The placid expression flickered for a very brief moment but returned with the expected shake of his head.

"If you are innocent, then there is no need to worry; you shall be let go once it's proven."

He didn't wait for a response to that, and instead jumped to his next question "So exactly how long have you been aboard the 4423?"

((ooc: meep. same question as Shinji; should have asked. Any name changes or is it still Kensei?))

If you are innocent, huh, Kensei repeated mentally to himself as he processed the words in his head. As far as he was concerned, this was a pretty big 'if'. Vohemar wasn't exactly know for being fair after all - though then again to be honest, neither was Ivona.

"I boarded the ship in Doma," the man replied neutrally. "Needed a work and I was always attracted to a life on the skies - not to mention my plane needed somewhere to park since it got busted on the flight there." Which was pretty much the truth - Kensei only considered himself lucky that he managed to find the two assholes he was looking for while at it.

[OOC: Aha, he does have a change because he paid extra to correct it since Shinji screwed up in the beginning. The name on the document's Ginza Kyoujin, in the Eastern order.]

He nodded, seeming to take this in stride.

"So you boarded the 4423 in Doma, besides that, what else did you do, and what were you doing beforehand?"

"Flying around in my plane," the Vaizard replied in a deadpan tone of voice as he stared at the interrogator with an unamused look. "I've been traveling around the continent for the past few months since I've got nothing better to do." Which was a lie, of course - he had been searching for the two idiots - but who really bothered at this point? And this story was easier to go with anyway.

This provoked a raised eyebrow, but nothing more.

"The 4423 was said to have gone to Doma to deliver a package, what do you know if this?"

At this, Kensei really did look surprised. He had no clue what the 4423 had been up to before boarding it in Doma, and Shinji was supposed to tell him - though of course the raid had distracted them all so he wasn't informed of anything at all. The silver-haired man quickly let the surprised expression fade on his face before he replied with a noncommittal shrug. "Didn't know anything about the ship before I boarded it in Doma. Nobody informed me of this." And it was the truth this time.

Ironically enough, this was the first time that Kensei received a dubious stare.

After so many of the same answers, he was beginning to get tired of hearing them again and again. There was yet another stretch of silence.

"What were you told upon joining the 4423?"

At this, Kensei arched a questioning eyebrow at the interrogator, surprised by this question. What was this all about now? Regardless though, it was still a question he needed to answer and that was what the man did.

"That it was a pirate vessel, did the occasional pirating and I'll be kicked overboard the ship in mid-air by the captain if I took the loot before its divided," the Vaizard replied with a slight shrug, pausing a little then as something came to mind at that point. "Oh, and to always heed rule fifty-six or whatever the hell that number was again."

The investigator massaged his temple for a moment. "...Rule fifty six, huh? Sounds like a long list. Almost stifling to a guy like you who's used to freely roaming the skies. So why the 4423 and not some other ship? Or was it the only one there at the time?"

"Tell me about it," the Vaizard muttered in response in an undertone, remembering himself when he saw those rules. So many rules when you were in a pirate ship? Seriously. Well, it wasn't his business anyway - and most of those rules were simple and straight to the point. Just so long he never mentioned the captain's age. (Must be a sore spot for her, if Kensei could harbor a guess.)

He shrugged at the next question. "There were a lot of ships there when I came. Some of them from Ivona, some from Vohemar and others from god-knows-where." If it wasn't Erealia then it had to be Kropmork, that was for sure. Unless somehow there was civilization in Kagatau and nobody was informed of it. "The 4423 just got my attention. You know, the bullshit about gut feelings and destiny and all that jazz."

Another pause. "Or they were the only ship willing to take my busted plane in. Nobody wants to hire a pilot who got his plane busted, after all."

"Huh. A lot of ships. Guess the 4423 just took the worst time to leave to land it in suspicion like this." The investigator tapped his pen a few more times, before writing a few things time. He brow furrowed a bit, as he thought things over. His next words were said almost as a second thought, his real focus somewhere else.

"Guess your destiny is to end up in prison." He shrugged.

"Moving on, did you notice anything strange while you were in Doma? Anyone acting weird or suspicious?"

Kensei snorted at that point, nostrils flaring slightly as he cursed himself once more for having landed into these sort of situations. Damn Shinji and his cursed luck of choosing things that got them into messes like these. "I guess so," he replied with his own shrug back in return. He couldn't say for certain it wasn't the 4423 after how, given how he only boarded the ship there. But he knew Shinji and Hiyori weren't responsible for it, at the very least - it wasn't like them to do that.

The silver-haired man paused to think about it for a while at the next question before he sighed and replied. "Nothing that I can recall. Everything looked pretty alright to me when I was there." Though after with the life he had been through, just about everything looked fine with him.

The investigator just grinned and gave a small shrug at Kensei's snort. "Tough break.

"Now, just humor me for a moment here. Let's go back through the events. When did you end up in Doma again? Same day as the 4423 or were you there before?"
