Anthy walked up to Utena's door. It was a knock she was dreading, but it needed to be done.

There wasn't really a way for Anthy to explain, even to herself, everything that seeing Utena again had made her feel. It was deeply confusing to say the least. She wasn't sure exactly what she had been expecting from Utena, but it wasn't this. Hatred, rage, sadness, disgust...It was something they didn't talk about.

It wasn't something you really could talk about. Maybe that was why Utena had gone on pretending like everything was completely normal, pretending like That Night had never happened. But it was hard for Anthy to bear looking at her, remembering what had happened. And in a way, Utena's nobility made it worse, because then nobody knew what a horrible person Anthy really was. That was a secret she had to suffer with, something she had to know everytime she saw Utena walking around, going about her business like a solid ghost, smiling, or telling a polite joke.

She had tried to kill Utena. She had run her all the way through with a sword, stabbed her right in the back. By all rights she should be dead, and only Anthy knew that. Yet Utena would carry on, being chivilrous and kind, only building for those around a picture of two young girls who had been friends, room mates. And nothing more.

But now something was happening, and Anthy couldn't ignore things anymore. They had to be confronted, much as she hated that. Even if they couldn't deal with the rest of it, at least she must impress upon Utena the urgency of the situation, the need for both of them to lay low, to conceal their identities.

≠ utena tenjou, anthy himemiya
