Tsuna's astonished reaction startled her, and she found herself taking instinctively a step back, her own sea green-colored eyes growing wide as they stared back into his gaze. Blinking, Shion maintained eye contact for a few moments, until he finally shifted, turning on the electronic journal once more.

Perhaps it wasn't a good idea heading over to him so suddenly. She didn't want to intimidate him or anything, especially when they just met. Then again, it was also interesting, seeing how easily he was surprised. Although, that may be due to the current issue diverting his attention, but she silently noted that he'd probably be a good victim for surprise hug attacks in the future all the same. With this decided, she let a small, reassuring smile breeze past her lips before focusing on the electronic journal again.

"So...what do you want to try learning now?" she inquired, her body relaxing again. "I'm assuming you've learned how to record voice posts by now?" Hopefully he didn't have too many technical questions. She knew how to handle the basics, but anything farther than that would be like an elementary student trying to finish college level work.

"Yea, I think I can do voice posts now," he grinned sheepishly. He thought for a moment trying to think what would be useful. Nothing too difficult, of course, since he was sure he would forget soon anyway. Or mess up somehow. "How do you set up filters? I can do simple ones, like for the entire ship, but what about specific people?" There, that seemed like a good thing to know.

"Thank you for taking your time to help me," the brunette smiled brightly. He was sure Mion was a very kind person if she was willing to put up with him. She didn't look much older than him and there was something about her that made her very comfortable to be around. Ever since she had arrived, she was constantly smiling and Tsuna can't help but smile back, his mood definitely better than earlier. But no matter how nice she was, he didn't want to be too much of a bother. He liked helping people, but whenever it was the other way around, he couldn't help but feel he was only being troublesome.

"Filters for specific people?" Shion echoed, tilting her head slightly as she took a second to recall the information. "Well, you just press..." Extending a hand, she gingerly clicked a few, specific keys. "...These, and that should set up a filter!" Her fingers itched to bring up a filter to the captain's ID - the numbers of which she already committed to memory as if it were her own password to a safe - but she resisted the urge, forcing herself to heed Tsuna's next words.

"Anytime!" She returned his smile with another cheerful one of her own. "I know getting a hang of technology can be rather difficult. It took me forever to figure out nearly every function myself!" She gave a small chuckle. "So, if you have trouble with anything else - even if it doesn't have anything to do with electronics - feel free to come see me! I'd be more than happy to help."

With how polite he was, she definitely wouldn't mind. It wasn't often she spoke with such a courteous person, and he reminded her of someone she once knew.

Tsuna watched her carefully as Mion showed him the steps then quietly repeated to himself quietly to make sure he had it. It really didn't look that difficult so he was sure he wouldn't have a problem next time. "Well, technology is useful so being able to use it is a very good thing. I'm glad I have the opportunity to learn a skill like this," he smiled. He thought for a moment about Mion's offer, but he couldn't really think of anything else. "I think that's all. I'll keep that in mind and ask you if I come across anything else."

Mion really was a nice person. Tsuna was glad he was able to meet such a person. After the isolation of his life before this, it was a pleasant change. "Um, have you eaten yet?" he asked hesitantly.

Shion shook her head in response. "No," she answered, slowly, "but thinking about it now, I do have a craving for something sweet." She briefly pressed a finger to her lower lip, taking a moment to consider it. "Hmm...oh!" She shifted away from him, towards the entrance of the lunch room. "I believe the cooks were working on a batch of cupcakes earlier. They're probably finished by now...so, since I'm going to head over there and select one for myself, would you like me to grab one for you as well?"

Hopefully he liked sweets. Although, it wasn't often she met someone who detested confections. She still recalled the time she worked at Angel Mort, and it held a free dessert trial. People had flocked to the bar in droves, and she found herself exhausted by the end of the day. It was moments like those, which reminded her that despite how being a radio ops on the Fiertia wasn't exactly a walk in the park, it was definitely easier than being a waitress.

sorry for taking so long DDD= sky_tuna February 5 2009, 21:01:42 UTC
"Oh, yes please. Thank you," Tsuna answered. Cupcakes sounded good, and it had been awhile since he had any sweets at all. The thought of them reminded him of the desserts he would usually get during his stay at the Vongola. Admittedly, the food was one of the few things that were good about that time. He mentally shook his head to make the memories go away.

Carefully, he turned his journal off and pushed it towards the middle of the table in case he did something stupid and actually break it. He was done with it for today and was quite proud of himself despite the scare he had given himself earlier. After all, he did meet someone nice and he hoped they could become friends. He was determined to make his stay on the Fiertia as memorable as possible.

With his assent, Shion swiftly made her way out of the lunch room, her heels clicking with the same amount of alacrity as before. In a few moments, she returned, appearing at the entrance with a silver platter. She had bent her elbow, elevating her wrist with her palm held upright, expertly balancing the dish upon her right hand. It carried several white, porcelain plates, each carrying a different type of cupcake. Two small bowls sat in the corner, one carrying an assortment of candy and, the other, an aggregation of fruits. After all, dessert was never complete with a variety of toppings, and, even if they weren't used for garnishing, they made a delicious snack afterwards. If they were still hungry, anyway.

As she lowered the platter onto the center of the table, the sweet scent of the confections wafting through the air as she had, the memory of her work at Angel Mort surfaced again. A wistful smile flickered past her lips at the thought, as she swiftly took a seat across from Tsuna.

"Well, take your pick!" she stated, blithely. "Of course, if you don't have any preference, I'd like to reserve the one with butterscotch." She gave a small giggle to indicate that her words weren't really meant to be taken seriously. Well, partly. The one with butterscotch frosting really did seem quite appetizing at the moment.

"Thank you! Wow, they look really good," Tsuna smiled as he watched Shion set the platter on the table. There were so many different choices and they all looked so good that Tsuna had a hard time deciding which to choose. He contemplated each carefully. He didn't mind that Shion called for the butterscotch, besides there were so many other ones to choose from. Eventually he settled on a chocolate with fluffy white icing.

"I'll have this one then," he said, as he picked up the cupcake he chose. Looking over the assortment of toppings Shion had brought, he chose several pieces of strawberries and put them on top of his cupcake. Carefully he peeled off the paper before taking a bite. It really was delicious. Not as good as ones made by the Vongola's chefs, of course, but tasty all the same. He chewed slowly, enjoying the chocolaty taste. It was just right and not too sweet.

Looking up at Shion, he asked "How's the butterscotch?"

Gingerly selecting the cupcake with butterscotch, Shion then busied herself with garnishing it with a strawberry and a cherry. Pulling the corners of the white paper, she then leaned forward to take a bite. Sugary sweetness swam through her tongue, and she let a complacent smile spready across her lips.

"Mm...it's delicious," she replied, gazing over at Tsuna. "How's yours?"

Glancing at the treat he chose, she noticed that he had picked the one with white icing. "Ooh, the chocolate cupcake...those are usually very good."

"You're right, it's very good!" Tsuna grinned. How lucky of him to already have made a friend despite not having been on the Fiertia for long.

It didn't take much time for him to finish his chocolate cupcake. Rubbing his fingers against each other lightly to brush the crumbs off, he peered at the platter again, wondering which to choose. The difficult part was they all looked delicious so in the end he chose one with blue icing because he liked the colour. After covering the top with a generous helping of sugar crystals he took a bite of it. It was delicious.

He glanced sideways at Shion, "This is very nice, thank you miss Mion." He smiled brightly.
