Sara was at one of the cannons, firing as best she could. Her eyes were zipping one way and the next, looking for openings and the best places to hit. This couldn't go wrong. They couldn't lose. They couldn't die.

Beside her was the suitcase she'd brought on board. It didn't read SARA CRUZ like one would expect; it read EMILY.

"Hey!" A voice called out from behind Sara as a familiar blond haired woman wandered over towards the rear of the cannon. The blasts from the canons where nearly deafening as Rangiku shouted towards the girl. "Do you need any help!?" She asked over the roar of guns.

"I do not think you guys got enough gunners here!"

Great. Ms. Matsumoto. Sara nodded, though - her annoyance was secondary to driving the pirates off and keeping the ship afloat.

"If you can shoot, shoot."

"Shoot?" Blinking her eyes a few times in confusion, Rangiku's gaze settled upon a nearby canon with such a clueless expression. Remembering what happened to Aragaki just a moment ago, the blond began to wonder if she could really handle such a machine like this. The last thing she wants is to get injured during the skirmish but the lack of gunners aboard the Silvana made her worry.

"I could try!" She said with a bright grin as she rushed over towards the other cannon. "How do you work this thing?" She asked Sara in curiosity.

Sara resisted the urge to facepalm and instead settled for an annoyed facial expression. She moved over to the other cannon and loaded it up. "Aim a little higher than where you want to shoot. How much higher depends on how far away the other ship is."

A cheerful smirk was her answer to Sara since she was grateful that the girl was willing to help her despite having such a fearsome scowl upon her face. She figured that Sara was just concerned about having a novice gunner as a partner but Rangiku hoped she could at least be of some help. This is a life or death situation and like Cruz warned her before, a single mistake can get them all killed.

"Gotcha!" She replied once she took control of the canon. Rangiku was of course baffled as to what to do so she watched Sara for a few minutes before deciding to actually fire her first shot. Unfortunately for her, her first shot wasn't very impressive for it fell too short.

"Oh..." A frown appeared on her face. "No good." She grumbled as she got ready to aim again.

"No." Sara moved to Rangiku's cannon again and grabbed her arms. "Think before you aim. Anyone can do this, so long as they don't screw it up." She looked at one of the other ships, let go of the novice and adjusted the cannon. "Now."

'Anyone can do this?'

Rangiku thought quietly to herself as she listened to Sara intently. As much she wondered about the young gunner's morbid personality, a little bit of truth did ring within her words. Anyone can do this, so long as they don't screw it up. "...You are right." She replied to Sara once she noticed the pirate ship coming closer to the Silvana. Rangiku took control of the cannon yet again, this time keeping her eyes upon the target.

"Just remember, anyone can do this..." She mumbled to herself just before she fired the cannon. Unlike the last time, Rangiku was rewarded with a loud 'BOOM' signalizing that actually hit the pirate's ship this time.

"Yes!" She cheered. "Got them!" With the adrenaline of her first successful shot fueling her, Rangiku hurried loaded the gun again.

Sara nodded and went back to firing her own cannon. "Make sure you keep thinking. Don't just aim blindly, Ms. Matsumoto, or you'll waste all the cannonballs and be helpless when they close in on us."
