Franziska did not have long to wait. While Edgeworth certainly had his flaws (despite all his blustering over the ideals of "perfection"), he was, if nothing, else punctual. Not only that, only a cad would forget a meeting like this. Ever since Franziska had joined him and her father aboard the Victoria II, the two siblings met twice a month to share information and talk about matters they couldn't discuss with the rest of the crew.

As soon as Edgeworth had reached her quarters, he announced his presence with a light knocking against her door. He saw what happened to lesser men who barged in without introduction, and while he was confident he could get away with only a mild thrashing, courtesy forbade him from just waltzing in.

For the most part, Franziska lashed out at her brother (literally) out of habit. He may have been a blundering fool, but he was distressingly nonreactive to even her most caustic of attacks - still, there were appearances to maintain.

So, when he knocked primly upon her door, Franziska easily ignored the courtesy of going to let him in, as usual. "You are twenty seconds late, Miles Edgeworth," she said, remaining perfectly where she was.

Edgeworth opened the door and strode in confidently, seemingly unphased by Franziska's comment. As he sat down in his usual chair, he said, "I'm perfectly on time. If anything is twenty seconds late, it's your time piece."

He couldn't say he was surprised, in all honesty. Franziska had a talent for uncovering flaws in everything she saw, no matter how slight, and she distributed blame (imagined or real) as she saw fit. Edgeworth found it grating, but at this point, he was more or less used to it.

Franziska primly refrained from serving him tea, as usual. von Karma's served no one tea, especially not their younger siblings. "Hmph," she said eloquently, taking a sip of her own drink, "You were not here when the tea finished, which is the real start of this meeting, hence you were late."
